Huh, I always thought it was "black volcano". The more you know I guess. Nice deck, although I'd recommend lightning bolt or lightning strike over Puncture bolt.

Okay, my one complaint is that you're running a lot of situational three drops in a deck with 13 lands, and you're running necrobite instead of more lands.

Hey Northy, it's been awhile. I would like to see your take on a budget Volrath, the fallen commander deck. I'm just sick of the unoriginallity in commander decks, every black commander deck has all the same cards, with a few differences here and there. I run a Xenagos deck with no eldrazi and no Vorinclex, and I still win on a regular basis. Well enough of that. Good luck, Northy.

Tron decks tap out on turn three.

I have a savage ventmaw in this deck, and it does not disappoint. I just wished that you could cast the creatures you pay for with the mana it makes before combat. Urabrask does nothing for this deck, since the creatures I have get haste from Xenagos' ability. Ill take out archetype of aggression for Rancor. I'll think about the rest.

My reason for not running Deus of calamity is because I didn't have one and my local store didn't either. But I just got one for eighty cents, so what should I take out for it? My local store also lacks a Wolf run, which I would put in instead of rougue's passage. I'm going to take out a Dragonlair spider for Ruric Thar.

Hunter's insight isn't that necessary, as we've already got a Hunter's prowess which gives a small boost. Vexing Shusher is another win more card, because I'd rather just out pace my opponent without having to pay an extra mana to make something Uncounterable. Outpost siege is an extreme situational card. I don't know what I should take out for the Deus.

You only need about twenty four lands for most decks, and this isn't one of those. Chandra's ability to kill most creatures is pretty useless when you have cards for two mana that do the same thing, especially since those cards kill anything, rather than creatures with toughness 4 or less. Her minus seven will rarely end a game, since you'd have to take three turns with her being undamaged, and if you didn't draw a red card you wouldn't be able to +1 her. Brutal Hordecheif will usually be attacking for a lot more than four with the Young Pyromancers tokens, and you'll gain tons of life if you also have Wingmate out.

Brutal Hordechief instead of two lands and a The Chandra Ablazes? It's super good, especially with two or more on the board.

Makes since. It survives every deck splashing white for path to exile. Something that I would like to see very much is at least two Somberwald Sages, as it helps ramp VERY efficiently.

Umm, it's modern...? Besides, Thundermaw is way better and already in the deck.

Divination in a top tier 300$ Modern deck? No. How about serum visions, or mind scour?

Thank you for choosing green for something besides Tarmogoyf.

Lake of the dead isn't legal in modern. I made room for two realms uncharted in the main board, and one mana reflection in the side.

I'm glad you agree with me on the Goyf, as the only card that puts things directly into the grave is inquisition of Kozilek. I'll see if I can find some way to get at least one surgical extraction in the side or main board.

Mana reflection doubles mana production. I'll see the rest of your reccomendations.

Yes, I usually use the same hate cards in standard.

If by urzatron you mean a deck that uses the urza lands, then yes.

I don't think dark ritual is legal in modern. And drafting isn't my thing either. I tried it on hearthstone and did pretty well, though. I usually make my decks to be good against everything, then in the sideboard I put specialized hate cards. From the way you talk about Tron I don't think you've ever seen a (non blue) Tron deck before. It'll rock your world, trust me.

Yeah, I see how that would work. I think about all the big names in a format, for standard I think mostly about control, red aggro, and Abzan. For modern, I think about how big that Goyf will be, how my deck can beat blood moon, and how fast it can put out answers to infect.

Yes, please comment on that deck! It relies on cards like Crypt ghast and Nirkana Revenant, along with the normal Tron lands.

Sounds like a pretty cool deck idea. Lots of decks just plain lose to Blood moon, and it's a pretty original deck idea.

That's it, I've got no more questions about the deck!

Umm, no, 99% of these decks I don't actually own, I just really enjoy making cool decks. Right now I'm working on a Golgari Tron deck.

Keeper of Progenitus is like a friend card, pretend like you're playing it because you want everyone to be happy, but don't actually let everyone win. I can imagine it being like rites of flourishing, where everyone taps out because of how much expensive cards they have in hand, so then you don't have to worry about counters.

Thanks for the feedback, the first time this deck was put on unloved it got none.

Yeah, I made this deck a while ago and it was really bad, no recursion, no artifact or enchantment hate. I really just wanted to make a deck with tons of big monsters. But again, thanks for the advice.

I'll look at your decks and see what advice I can give.
