Deck Description

Inspired by magicmaster13.
So, via NorthernWarlord and magicmaster13, i have become aware of this challenge. The requirements of it are:
-Modern deck
-Only one color
-Budget as close as possible to 6 dollars

How to Play

This deck is fast and fierce. There are a few concepts at work.

The Scattershot Archer enjoys a dual role. As a 1/2 one-drop, when cast on the first turn, he can attack on turn 2 and often get through for a meager 1 point of damage, which is enough to activate Bloodthirst on Skarrgan Pit-Skulk. Later, he can Soulbond with the creepy Nightshade Peddler and employ deathtouch to destroy all fliers.

Skarrgan Pit-Skulk is a remarkable one-drop. He has Bloodthirst, an ability NorthernWarlord effectively demonstrates here:

More importantly, both Skarrgan Pit-Skulk and Aura Gnarlid cannot be blocked by creatures with less power. This forms the primary win condition for the deck. Namely, pump up either or both and send them to start some unblocked violence!

Lignify helps to reduce high power creatures to zero. As an Aura, Lignify also makes Aura Gnarlid pumped.

Trample is a great way to activate Bloodthirst. Garruk's Companion rolls over early defenders and spills Bloodthirst quenching damage to your opponent's face. Garruk's Companion also costs {G}{G}, so it adds early Devotion.

Speaking of Devotion, Aspect of Hydra is a flat-out amazing card! For the price of Giant Growth, it delivers so much more punch! In this deck, it is especially useful for escalating unblockable damage from the level of "Oopsy, you hit me" up to "What Happened to my SPLEEN!?!" Devotion also shows up to bolster your own dwindling life by way of Nylea's Disciple's come-into-play effect.

Notably, the offensive Auras all operate at instant speed to allow surprise in combat and to help mana-management. The deck is inexpensive mana-wise anyway.

Hunter's Insight helps replenish the hand (a big problem with cheap mana cost decks) and Paragon of Eternal Wilds helps buff the little guys.

Excelsior!

Thanks again NorthernWarlord and magicmaster13 for the challenge.
