Deck Description

Seeing how dangerous card draw is becoming, and how dredge will be coming into the picture with the last set of the Theros block, being able to counter is starting to be too slow and dangerous. So how do you avoid that Sphinx's Revelation for 4+, or get that high cost win condition past your opponent's counter laden hand.

Simple. You view their hand and force them to look for answers.

Inspired by Reap Intellect, this mill deck is designed to have an idea of your opponent's strategy while pouring on the pressure.

Using Duress and Thoughtseize as preemptive "counter" spells, you can remove crucial cards from your opponents hand and plan for their next move. Add Reap Intellect right after removing their Dissolve (or similar counter) can exile plenty of problem cards from their decks and answer an Elixir of Immortality.

Using Realmwright, you can turn all lands you play into Swamps. This makes Crypt Ghast a dangerous ramp, especially if Liliana is allowing you to find basic swamps to boost your land count.

Although it is slightly obvious, Consuming Aberration is, and can become even more of, a dangerous mill if Phenax is on field. Add a Triton Tactics to the mix and you'll probably empty your opponent's deck that turn.

As for Desecration Demon, it gives you an on-field removal spell and 6+ mill creature with Phenax's ability. If you find your opponent is willing to skip a sacrifice step in order to squeeze some damage through, equipping an Accorder's Shield to your demon while make the sacrifice seem all the more reasonable.

Any suggestions are appreciated, and hopefully you'll find your opponent's secrets aren't so well protected...

Mirko Vosk and Breaking are mostly to put pressure on your opponent by using high mill cards, which can allow your Lazav to copy one of the creatures put in the graveyard. From personal experience, having Lazav become a copy of Prophet Of Kruphix, and with Hexproof to boot, made for a very short game.

Deck discussion for Invasion Of Privacy (Mill)

Have you considered adding Nightveil Specter? Mills just a little bit (negligible amount), but it adds a lot to the table.

I'd played this deck with 3x Nightveil Spectres instead of the realmwrights and a third Desecration Demon. Although it can add devotion for Phenax and allow you to steal their top card, it had too many solutions. It is easily removed with burn spells, control players are more likely to counter it then a 1 mana Realmwright. Finally, if the deck your facing is a different colour, you'd need to exile lands before playing something useful.
