Sweet deck! I think this can ramp up pretty quickly. I like the combo on Gyre Sage with the counters and the mana!

I was thinking of maybe leaving out 1 Wayfaring Temple and putting in 1 extra Courser of Kruphix? I find that card important enough to have it in there 4 times. You'll need the lands, and the lifegain helps you out slightly against aggro in the meantime, while you build up your army. Just a thought though :-)

How's this deck working out for you sofar? I see you've made some changes, like Banisher Priest?
I copied your deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/spiffmeister/decks/control-human/) and made some changes as well. Especially the 2 extra mana has done wonders! Now I'm just looking to switch Hopeful Eidolon for something more supportive. Maybe I will have to add Spear of Heliod, but I don't want to go below 20 creatures... Also I don't want to add Heroic creatures, because there's not enough spells that target a specific creature...

I'm wondering where the weak spots are as well. I've got a red deck that can get Deus of Calamity out on turn 3, which will also ruin this deck badly... I do like the combo's on this deck, however! Very nice!

Ah of course, "Card type". My bad! :-) In that case, put in 4! ;-)

Perhaps switch Semblance Anvil with Urza's Incubator? Same cost, same 2 less mana, but you don't need to exile any cards. Other than that: very fun deck!!! Looks like something that can escalate rather quickly :-)

I'd suggest adding Venser, but that beats the budget purpose :-)

Fun deck! Seems fast enough as well. i'm wondering what you could do to speed it up...

Thanks! I've been working on it for months, getting the balance right. The low mana cost creatures remain effective later in the game as well, and everything else just gets more badass. I'm still considering tossing something out for more mana though, because that can be an issue sometimes. But it's one of my favorite decks to play because of the concept, it's rather original. That's what drew me to your deck as well.

Awesome! That should make a difference I think. Have you playtested the deck yet by any chance?

Nice concept! However, I think you could use some methods of getting in lands faster and perhaps some burn for removal? The enchantments you have work very well as defense, but not against flyers or unblockables, for example. And especially with Koth's abilities and Spire Barrage, getting in lands faster makes you last longer against aggro as well.

I have a similar deck, although far more creature based. I use Wayfarer's Bauble and Geosurge and the likes to get my creatures out faster (a turn 3 Deus of Calamity hurts! :p) and make my mountain-based burn spells hurt more. Have a look-see (http://www.mtgvault.com/spiffmeister/decks/koth-burn-crush-thingy/). I might end up stealing your idea of using Genju of the Spires though :p

Yeah, rebel decks and removal don't quite get along :-) that's why i've got Nightwind Glider and Thermal Glider in there, they help last a bit longer. Shield Dancer and Ch-Manno Revolutionary help as well, as does Ballista Squad, all very defensive. And once you have Story Circle out, you're golden :-)

So having multiple searchers in there (4x Sergeant's like you did is a great beginning) helps you a lot. It's all about getting the right flow, once you have that, you get to a certain point of no return where you're unstoppable. The risk ànd fun of a rebel deck :-)

What he said. That, and Hopeful Eidolon also is a one-drop. Win-win!

Nice variation on the Rebel deck! I do think that 15 creatures is way too few, though. Maybe take out Cathar's Crusade or Path of Bravery? Check out my Rebel deck if you're interested!

Fun-looking deck, very nice! I've got the same sort of thing running, only less aggro (i.e. slower buildup) and half as expensive. Works like a charm though.

Fun concept! Where's the win con if I may ask? Using Artisan of Forms to copy a tougher creature and use that to deal damage?
