Deck Description

This is my first attempt at an EDH deck. Idea is fairly simple use cheap tutors to load the grave yard with creatures before casting them with Karador. Tried to incorporate some less graveyard reliant cards and artifact removal to deal with grafdiggers cage, are there any better one's i'm missing?!

Still working on the mana base, think it might be a little plains heavy at the moment.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, particularly with regards to white creatures as I don't use white very often but any other ideas would be great.

How to Play

Typically use a board wiping card when there are a few creatures on the board, including my own so I can bring Karador into play. Try to make sure so creatures in grave have ETB effects such as stonehorn dignitary and indrik stomphowler for recasting with Karador. Use birthing pod to load up grave as well as finding best creatures.
For defense I have a couple of tuck cards for over ambitious generals and some boardwiping if I'm heavily outnumbered.

Deck discussion for Karador's Grave Ambition

With dredge and spells like buried alive/Jarad's orders, I would throw in a few reanimate spells for cheap reanimation, and definitely search for spells with flashback. Spells that are useless in the grave are, well, useless if they hit the grave.

I recommend (for reanimation):
Exhume, Unburial Rites, Reanimate, Life/Death (two previous can be painful) Twilight's Call (best friend late game), Crime/Punishment, Vigor Mortis, Victimize (A wonder), and Marshal's Anthem (maybe)

As a side note, Serra Angel and Wall of Tanglecord seem to just be a bit of a slot filler. With a deck as vibrant as Karador colors, every slot should have some purpose. Skullbriar would be a decent addition, and Demonic Collusion's buyback would may actually be an asset for fetching a reanimate spell to cast whatever you discard.

Just my opinion, so best of luck to you.

Thanks for taking time to have a look at the deck!

I'll look into picking up a couple of those re animator spells, especially unburial rites with its flashback. I'm fairly new to magic so I hadn't heard of a couple of the others.

Definitely agree with you about serra angel and wall of tanglecord. I did wonder about putting gravedigger in, I know he's not the best but with karador I would be able to re-cast him and make the most of his ETB ability? Or are there better creatures for reanimation? I was also thinking of adding hell's caretaker?

Thanks again for you comments.

Hell's Caretaker would definitely be a good reanimator addition!

I came across hell's caretaker when searching for reanimator creatures myself, the best of which to fit in here would be Doomed Necromancer. Yeah, he sac's himself, but his overall ability costs less than most reanimate instants and sorceries, and could also play nicely if you wanted to pull some Grave Pact/Martyr's Bond/Butcher of Malakir shenanigans. Gravedigger could activate this, though if you can cast from your graveyard already, I wonder if returning everything to your hand is necessary. Something like eternal witness with a sac outlet.

Others, though faaaaar more costly are Lim-Dul the Necromancer, Reya Dawnbringer, and if you want an opponent's creature, Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni will do the trick quite nicely. Or Nezumi Graverobber.

I retain my signature, and best of luck to you!
