This is an ongoing project to create the MEANEST Sliver commander deck around. I'm hoping to throw in Hivelord and Constricting once they're released, but until then, it's just old-fashioned beatings delivered the best way possible..... hundreds of sharp things flung at someone at high speed.
The best functionality is apparent while using Overlord as the commander. He can instant-speed fetch other Slivers out of the deck, such as Root Sliver to prevent being countered, Crystalline to prevent spell targeting, and Quick to flash them in after fetching them at instant-speed. For instance: Sliver Overlord is targeted by a blue bounce on your turn. You can automatically assume there's a counter spell somewhere in their hand, so you're boned unless you have plenty of mana or mana fixing options, which this deck has in Spades. Fetch Root with Overlord, cast it using priority in response to the bounce, fetch Quick, play him, then fetch Crystalline, throw him in, problem negated. There are a great deal of extensive combo plays that require forethought and an intimate knowledge of the deck itself, strategy, priority rules, and the functionality of the mana fixes. Not for the faint of heart, of course, but not so much for the beginner either.
