I've also done mono-black devotion decks, and here are my thoughts.I'd say that phyrexian obliterator is a better choice than herald of torment or some of the crypt ghast. Cut cards like eviscerate, altar's reap, and geth's verdict in favor of much more effective removal, like eviscerate and fatal push. Remove elixir of immortality because it does nothing for this deck, and something like geralf's messenger is more fitting. Don't run torpor orb in your sideboard because grey merchant is one of your win conditions. Include extra whips of erebos because that kind of lifegain is absurd. Also, if you listen to one thing I say, make it this: ADD NYKtHOS. It really makes a devotion deck work.
