Deck Description

Welcome to the modern TRISKAIDEKAPHOBIA DECK!

Suggestions are welcome!

How to Play

The idea is to have total control over both players life total, but more so over your opponents. You don't really care what your life total is, as long as it's not 13. However, the deck has enough jank ways to increase life totals, it's not totally screwed to things like death's shadow, where the deck just suicides. Plus if all else fails, just run the deck like a Mardu Burn, and throw everything at their face.

Deck discussion for Unlucky Number 13

I would recommend putting in some trees of perdition so you can guarantee that they will have 13 life

I wanted to make one of these for a long time, but I never really had a good enough idea to make it work.
I THINK, for life manipulation you either use the Tree like the other guy said, or you use some red tims like Prodigal Pyromancer to have more precise control of it.
Most of your instants are useless: your goal is to bring the opponent to 13, thus you only need to do 7 damage in most circumstances. And yet you've got Lightning Helix and Bolt, Boros Charm, Blessing, way too much stuff in my opinion.

You've got to remember, the instants can target creatures too. They're not just for hurting your opponent, they also double as creature removal. They also work for controlling your own life total. Say your opponent manages to put you to 13 while you're tapped out? On your upkeep, with Trisk's trigger on the stack, bolt yourself, then you don't lose. Not my first choice, but it is a possibility.

On the other hand, I do love me some tree. I just worry that it's too slow. You have to wait a full two turns with tree on the board before you can win with it. That gives them two turns to find an answer, of which there are a TON more of in modern.
