Deck discussion for Stasis (Legacy)

whats up tomy boy, i would run 4 forsaken citys as an extra way of pulling off the combo. also 4 muddle the mixture cause it can search out either chronatog or stasis with its transmute. personally i would use frozen either rather then orb of dreams.

The win condition comes from Stasis/Chronatog/Orb of Dreams.

All permanents come into play tapped (Orb of Dream), each player skips their untap step (Stasis).... During your opponent's turn, activate Chronatog's ability (skip your next turn to give Chronatog +3/+3).

What happens is you effectively never take another turn, continually skipping your turn, while your opponent decks himself. Since everything comes into play tapped, and nothing can ever be untapped, you win via skipping turns.

While Orb of Dreams does hit the field faster than Frozen AEther, it also effects your permenants where AEther only effects your opponents. You might consider splashing them in in place of the Orbs.

Additionally, Stasis is best played one of two ways. The first is with Forsaken City to consistently have a source to pay the upkeep for mana. This is best accommodated with the suite of free counters and Gush as a card drawer.

The other way is via bounce. You can use cards like Chain of Vapor (instant) or Vedalken Mastermind (creature with U: tap: return permanent you control) at your opponent's EOT therefore allowing you to have an untap step during your turn to replay Stasis.

I personally prefer the bounce route because it allows me to play Stasis and maintain a soft lock while I get the rest of the tools in place. In fact, take a look at my "Blue Prison" deck which is a Stasis-bounce build, very similar to what you have here.

I welcome any comments and criticism you have to offer on any of the decks I have listed here (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks in advance!

thanks! ill probably play the cities. i also don't understand how frozen aether helps me that much more. it seems like because i'm skipping my turns i shouldn't have to worry about the orb.

If you drop the Orb to start, ALL permanents come into play tapped, yours and your opponents. The AEther, however, is only opponent. So you can get it out first to set up and not have to worry about it effecting you while you get the rest to hit the table.

Think like for when you are still waiting for one part of the lock.

Muddle the Mixture helps you get Stasis or Chronatog, as well, btw. Another card that you could consider tossing in.
