Deck Description

This deck has some of the best synergy ever

How to Play

Play token generators, use tokens to generate more tokens play seraph of masses, and Intangible virtue. Oh damn I have 9 2/2 vigilance, 3 2/2 vigilance fliers, and a 13/13 flier with trample on the 4th 5th turn. I own this deck and that scenario happens a ton

Deck discussion for Hope You Have Board Wipe

you could also just throw Lingering Souls or Spectral Procession in. I know Lingering souls has a Black Flashback but it is still another token producer if you need more. And Triplicate Spirit is awesome anyway so good deck man

It would take away from the real Sheer amount of low drop token Producers hes got. Its really the big Flyer he is going for rather than the chump blockable ground force. And he can do Seraph off of Convoke so the only downside is "BoardWipe"

Yuck, tokens! I can't stand them. First deck I lost, after getting back into Magic after a really long time, was a Token deck. I beat me pretty badly.

Yeah? Against an opponent that does nothing I suppose?

As I see it, if you don't draw Rise the Alarm/Gather the Townsfolk, you will have a very slow start, since most of your spells have convoke and are quite expensive if you don't have much to tap. You'll face the same problem if your opponent kills the first tokens you generate - something that opponents tend to do. Heck, if you don't draw Rise the Alarm, you will have to cast Fist of the Ironwood on an opponents creature, otherwise you'll do nothing turn one AND two and your first creature will be a 1/1 Crusader ...

I STRONGLY recommend to add Chatter of the Squirrel. That gives you something productive to do on turn one, a target for your Fist of Ironwood in turn two and a basis for convoke-related stuff!
Also, I would replace 2 Seraph of the Masses and both Guardians with 4 Geist-Honored Monk! He can help to built and more importantly REbuild your token army. Because, if something goes wrong, both the Seraph and Guardian will sit in your hand, uncastable.

wayfaring temple would be better then crusader of odric

The deck is sooooooooo offensive and is solely reliant on your tokens. I'd add Sundering Growth for some control and populate as well as the possibility of Growing Ranks, Doubling Season and Presence of Gond for token generation.

I get the theme of the deck is based around convoke but you might be better of putting in a creature like Mycoloth instead of Vitu-Ghazi, this way you can have a beefy creature with token generation each upkeep. Also Wayfaring Temple (as many people have suggested) would be far better than Crusader of Odric.

I would consider stuff like Advent of the Wurn, Parallel Lives and Growing Ranks for a deck like this

I have parrellel lives in the sideboard, but most of my tokens are ment to be small thus growing ranks isn't as good in the deck and I don't need token bombs but nice thought. Also I want to keep it budget

Ah! I just thought of them to make a lot more tokens. I can also understand you wanting to keep it budget and not adding Advent, but it is an idea for not-budget players

A lot of these decks tend to turn into "tuned" versions of the "Dragon's Maze's: Strength of Selesnya", event deck, if you aren't careful.

Good deck but they can be a bit repetitive, I can attest as i have my own that uses a Panoptic Mirror.

Good foundation for a mass token generator. :) Has serious weaknesses, though: Killing Wave, Consume the Meek, Fade Away, etc. For those, I recommend either Blood Artist or Butcher of Malakir.

I also think it is interesting that your sideboard is worth more than your deck!

Cheers!

P.S.: Consider some buffs. One Elesh Norn, and the wind gets knocked out of your sails when most of your tokens bite the dust.

Crusader of Odric is a good addition. She's a 3 mana */* drop. Her toughness and power are equal to the number of creatures you control. Also, since you have Raise the Alarm, the Captain of the Watch is also another pretty good card-it summons 4 creatures at once. And/or Odric, Master Tactician himself. Now I'm just listing off good cards from my first intro pack... It was M13-Path to Victory.

That's Growing Ranks...
Grove of the Guardian is a land that makes an 8/8 elemental with vigilance

0

I dont really want growing ranks or the grove because Id rather have multi token creating spells and growing ranks is mostly for larger tokens

Question - With Intangible Virtue in play with several tokens if you choose to convoke a spell and tap some tokens do they tap or stay untap due to vigilance???

0
Posted 27 August 2014 at 11:31

vigilance is attaking doesnt cause creature to tap
but tapping for abilities does otherwise that would so freaking broken
