I might actually run brave the elements over dissolve and cancel. Your deck is aggro, so you should be playing a creature and/or enchantment every turn. With brave, you only have to keep one mana open. Plus, brave fits in the theme of the deck because it can also be used to make your creatures unblockable.

BTE seems like it would be a good fit for this deck. Also, perhaps use Fanatic of Xenagos instead of Mindsparker. Finally, Mistcutter Hydra's would probably be better than Savage Summoning.

Syncopate doesn't really fit the deck because you should be spending most of your mana to drop monsters. Bow provides devotion for Xenagod too.

Instead of bows though, you might also consider putting in another Polukronas and Kalonian. Monsters decks need monsters to be effective, and you only have 6 right now.

For counterspells, I'd suggest running cheap counters like gainsay, negate, and dispel in your sideboard so you can add them to protect your monsters when playing control decks.

You could run 3 or possibly even 4 domri, but since you deck isn't quite as creature heavy as most monsters decks, 2 is probably fine.

I would put Domri in over the Hammers. The hammers really go against all the mana ramp in the deck because sacrificing lands may prevent you from casting some of your big creatures like the Kalonian and Stormbreath earlier. It is okay against control because if you can get it out you have a way to create creatures with all your extra land, so you could leave the Hammers in the sideboard if you want.

I made a very similar deck, http://www.mtgvault.com/traslin/decks/hydra-raid/. Thassa was not very helpful in my play-testing of the deck, so I'd probably pass on her. I'd probably side-board the hammers, and Simic Charm is not that great in my experience since you are going to tap out a lot to take advantage of ramp.

A few cards to consider:

- Turn // Burn is very strong. Kills Desecration Demon, Gods with devotion, Polukronas, etc.
- I'd mainboard Mizzium and sideboard Cyclonic. Mizzium outright kills most threats and board wipes 1 turn earlier than Cyclonic.
- Domri is pricey, but there are still enough creatures in this deck for him to be worth it.
- If you want to run counterspells, I'd run Dissolve or Negate over Syncopate.

I think I like Kalonian Hydra in this deck more than Adephage, which is a little too slow. I'm also not a big fan of Savage Summoning and Simic Charm. I'd run perhaps 2 or 3 Simic Charms. A few other cards I'd consider: Scavenging Ooze, Mistcutter Hydra, Kiora's Follower (pretty hilarious with Vorel), and Give // Take. In most cases, it seems like it would be better to have a Mistcutter than Savage Summoning. Ooze gives you longevity and synergizes with all the counter cards in the deck.

I'd also run 4 Temples of Mystery. The scry can be very strong late game, and it is always better to have a slow hand rather than an unplayable hand.

I replaced Thassa with Xenagod and another Rubblehulk. In my testing of a similar RUG deck, Thassa wasn't all that helpful. Xenagod fits better with the monster theme anyway. I'm also debating whether to replace Xenagos Reveler with more Kiora.

If you ever want to cast more than 1 spell a turn, you need more than 2 lands to play this deck :). I'd suggest running at least 20 lands. Also, 4 braves, 4 gods, and 4 mizziums is overkill. 4 gods and 4 mizziums should do the trick, and you can drop the braves since only 4 of your creatures are white anyway.

I'd also suggest getting some more creatures in there because 12 is rough even with the spells to protect them. Perhaps Blistercoil Weird, Judge's Familiar, or Soldier of the Pantheon. Judge's Familiar has built in evasion, which should help you be able to trigger cipher deeper into games. Blistercoil has a little synergy with cipher and protection instants you are running. Soldier of the Pantheon is just good, but he isn't dual color like the other two.

I cloned and modified the deck, http://www.mtgvault.com/traslin/decks/cipher-madness/. I also replaced magma jet with aqueous form. It has scry, increases damage, and provides evasion to trigger cipher.
