Deck discussion for MODERN HUMAN'S

A card I enjoy using when I play white weenie is Guardians' Pledge.

Also, a warning. Mentor of the Meek's ability becomes useless once you play Honour of the Pure. Just 1 Honour out will make any of your creatures with printed power of 2 not trigger Mentor as they enter with power 3

this is why I carry 3 honor of the pure I typically only play 1 of them in the right circumstance. if you use 1/1 tokens, 1/1 creatures, and 1 honor of the pure the enchantment will work great with MENTOR OF THE MEEK. thraben doomsayer's activated ability, increasing devotion, gather the towns folk, doomed traveler, fiend hunter soul's attendant, champion of the parish will all work as they enter the battlefield with only one honor of the pure. for the 2/2's which their are much less of will only work with mentor of the meek if their is not an honor of the pure. but in a deck the acronym B.R.E.A.D is what I always go for with building which means= bombs, removal, evasion, aggro, draw. my draw is mentor of the meek XD. Guardians' Pledge is not all that great just because it's cost for what it does V.S. honor of the pure is 1 mana less and is 1 +1/+1 less but is also a static ability. hope that all made sense thx for the input!! and if there is anything else to point out please let me know!!! XD

I understand that. I use the pledge in addition to the static bonus of Honour, though that's in my mono white spirit token deck. Pledge could be considered my 'bomb' in that deck... sort of...

that would make more sense though, I could see that.

Something like unruly mob might do well in a deck like this, I also like the idea of guardian's pledge :O

Cool deck. I think martyr of sands gets a spot, even if it's sb. Path to exile too!!! Here is my list I have been running for about 6 months

Have you tried it in a tournament yet? Really many red players have anger of gods in their sideboard, so be careful!

The tokens will die with ghost way but the non tokens won't and if they all enter the battlefield field mass effects will trigger from my creatures and I have thraben doomsayer to get tokens back as well

This is very similar to my deck I run at Modern Tournaments.

You don't need to splash black. the benefit isn't worth the fact that you run a deck with a ton of 1 CMC and you don't want to take the chance of getting a swamp. I feel it could potentially slow the deck down more than help it. You can take a look and see if there's anything that you like. The only thing I'd really recommend is to maybe sideboard Mentor. Don't get me wrong it's one of my favorite cards and with Thraben Doomsayer and mentor out it can be a fantastic way to burn through a deck. Which we all know is needed in any type of "weenie" deck. BUT if you have more than one Honor of the pure in play Mentor just turns into a beater to swing at them with. I've went back and fourth many many times of having him in mainboard vs. sideboard. I took them out and added Norn's Annex and I'd maybe say my deck runs better. I always take the hit of paying 4 life. If I get it out early enough because it can be recoup'd with soul sisters. and it really slows down decks.

i think the black splash has utility without worsening the deck, like necromancer and bob, but it starts to change the deck quite a bit. same way yo could add grean too and run eternal witness and may of avabruck

Yeah a splash for eternal witness would be an idea for sure but I would never add black because there is nothing consistent for this deck to gain from that verses other choices. Mentor of the meek is very strong for getting a couple creatures, firing off a few triggers, and getting through a bit of mana block or putting a few cards in your hand and it goes off with nyxthos ,shrine to nyx. Knight of the white orchid could also get you though mana block. But as far as splashing green what would you take out or add if you had the cards side by side?

With the eldrazi right now big game hunter in black seems good. I'm trying to jam g for you let me work on it!

You only usually play one honor of the pure and hang on to the other late in the game unless of course it will be more beneficial to play them out right depending on the deck your playing and game situations.
