Deck Description

I had built a landslide way back, and I decided it was time for a remake. So here it is. Unlike my other one, this one has life gain, and a lot of it. A very good survivability rate as well. The deck idea was sparked from my friends valakut deck, the whole landfall concept that not many decks take advantage of. If done right, you can have 8 lands out by turn 3, and win the game by turn 3 as well. I have done it before, but like most other decks, a win this fast doesn't happen that often. Most of the time the game is wrapped up by turn 3, but actual finished turn 4 or 5.
Thanks and enjoy!!!!

How to Play

Simple, spam as much land as you can onto the battlefield, then play a scapeshift or something to trigger either Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, or Rampaging Beloths, for a game win. Or mill them with Scrib Nibblers. Then shuffle back with Primal Command.

no problem man :-) the only thing I would do differently is use Hero's Downfall in place of Murder. It's the same exact mana cost and gives you the option to kill a creature or a planeswalker!

Hey, I really like the structure of this deck, and it looks like it would play well competitively. Have you seen Oracle of Muldaya?

Yes, I have and it was in my other version, but I never really had a use for it. It rarely helped. Maybe it would work better in this deck, I am not sure. I just made this, so give me some time and I will figure it out

Try substituting scrib nibblers for Oracle of Muldaya, and see where that gets you.

I think I may try that if scrib nibilers doesn't help that much, thanks!

Thank you, this is something that will probably go in. Never knew about this card.

Terramorphic Expanse Works really well with Landfall and filters lands!

I am aware of this, and this to was in my older version. The only problem with this is that it uses a land that you might need to cast something, but thanks anyway.

Alright. Why is Sanguine bond in this deck though? Avenger of Zendikar would be a way more awesome win condition.

I have had many games where by turn 5 or 6, I was at almost 60 life. About 10-20 life a turn. So, that card makes it so that the opponent looses that much life, just another win con

Well assuming you are saying this is with Grazing Gladeheart, maybe Worldly Tutor, Green Sun's Zenith, or Summoning Pact will help you get get creatures you like.

Actualy, Eternity vessel can do this as well. The rule states that any increase in life counts as life gain

Hey everyone!!!! I just tested this deck!!! HOLY CRAP, this thing is good. I had 8 4/4 beasts turn 5, along with 30 health, and 17 mana to spend!! Geez...

I have 80% of the deck in real life, I spent about 70$ for it, the other 20% was proxies. And yes, I played with 64 cards, but I have recently gotten it down to 60.

Is this deck supposed to be played with 64 cards? And if not is the summer bloom the card for the side board?? Can't wain to try it, Looks Great!

I haven't been able to take out 4 cards yet, and I am working on it. I played a game earlier and got up to almost 50 health turn 5 or 6. I won turn 7 or 8. The deck works great, and even though at times it may seem slow, the life gain more than makes up for that. If you have any ideas to take cards out, please let me know, so I can get another opinion.

ok sure
Ill play test and see if anything needs to be taken out but there are only minor implications of having 64 cards in this deck.

Maelstrom Pulse, Creeping Renaissance, Scythe Tiger, or Dark Heart of the Wood tickle your fancy?

Got them in my Landfall Crucible deck, though mine isn't Modern legal, and is focused way more on playing land from the graveyard.

Not really, I have looked at many cards, and unless something pops out, I won't really put it in at this point. Mostly because I have to take something out. Thanks though!

Summer Bloom should be replaced with Explore.

Crucible of Worlds has no place maindeck. If you insist on keeping it there, I'd suggest adding Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge.

Amulet of Vigor rarely does anything, there are only a few cards that make lands enter the battlefield tapped in this deck and some of those (like Scapeshift) should win you the game if you play them.

This is a landfall deck. There is no reason to be running only 20 lands.

Golgari Guildgate is necessary if you are on a budget.

Scrib Nibblers is a useless card. It should not be taking up sideboard slots.

I'd find a way to move the 2 sideboard Primal Commands to the mainboard and add in singleton a Primeval Titan and Avenger of Zendikar.

I'd also try adding in Eternal Witness, it allows you to repeatably cast Primal Command while searching for more Eternal Witnesses and doing another one of the Command's functions.

Good luck!

lots of info here, i will look this over, thanks!
Oh, you have no idea how helpful Amulet of Vigor is in actual play. Just looking at the deck you wouldn't think that, but it is actually very helpful, and provides a turn 3 win condition for this deck. And yes, I have pulled off a turn 3 win with this deck
Oh, and the amount of lands, it doesn't matter, because of primal command. The whole reason for those is to provide a way for me to shuffle my graveyard into my library.

I believe that Amulet of Vigor can be powerful, it just usually needs more cards that search for tapped lands. And the reason why I thought that you should have more lands isn't because you might run out from land search, it is so you can consistently get landfall. Overall, it seems like a fun deck. If only Collective Voyage was Modern legal, this deck would be great.

Yeah. I once managed to get a 52/52 Baloth Woodcrasher in casual with it, but I still managed to lose when my opponent sacrificed all of his lands to a Zuran Orb and then attacked with a massive Ageless Entity equipped with a Behemoth Sledge next turn. Good times, good times.

If your planning on gaining a lot of lives you could play Sanguine Bond with what you've been saying about having a good amount of mana quickly this could be another way to win

Hmm. That would be an interesting card in this deck. Would Eternity Vessel be considered life gain? If it is, dear god the combo that would happen.

I found two web sites that says that if you go up in life total it counts as life gained

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Discussion.aspx?multiverseid=189006
http://www.rarityguide.com/forums/magic-rules-questions/1012196-eternity-vessel-magic-gathering-gaining-life.html

So i would be inclinded to say yes

Nice. All you need to do is play Scapeshift with Eternity Vessel and Sanguine Bond on the board...instant win. Even if you're life total isn't at 20 for eternity vessel, you should have enough land to trigger the combo at least 6 times.

Summer Bloom is an awesome card. But I keep having to take it out of my decks due to the need to make 18 - 22 land decks. I can't see a need for it in your deck, since you have no cards for putting lands into your hand. If you had 30 lands in the deck then it might be useful. But having only 21 means 2-3 lands in your opening hand, with the next land appearing at turn 4, meaning only having one land per turn. I would recommend "Walking Atlas" as a replacement.
