Deck Description

I played this deck never having seen it before against 3 other players. As i didnt have an EDH built for the 4th of july...hmmmm i wonder if i could build a deck based on that/my military exp? i managed to acquire some pretty good sized board hate exiling vaans damnation first and then my own cruel ultimatum using nivix guildmage and my jeleva to play the ultimatum 5 times. i took out one player. then my brother dropped sorin markov dropping me to 10 life in the hopes that our other friend would kill me which he did. He then attacked my brother without killing sorin(big mistake) that allowed my brother to draw a tutor and bring in the firing solution for him to keep his vampire edh deck undefeated.

The best Jeleva decks I've seen are the ones that run very little creatures or none at all. The have good ramp and big stupid spells (like taking extra turns, multiple attack phases, etc.) and then a big win con is Army of the Damned.

army of the damned can be fun vaan uses it in some of his decks i tried to use it in one but it went down a different path after awhile

Also you could play around with exiling other player's decks. Long-Term Plans can help set you up for a win.
Sadistic Sacrament (you can play the kicker still even if it is casted from exile with Jeleva)
Denying Wind

Take things also:
Blatant Thievery
Knowledge Exploitation

Yea, wasn't sure if you had some sort of budget or not so I just suggested value type cards. By no means do you need them to win or have fun, just what I see being played.

my budget is based off of Veterans disability its not a lot but i can manage to pay my rent and bills. but feel free to look at my other decks and make comments. Most of these decks i build and play on cockatrice. some of my decks are from when i first started playing about 13 years ago very badly built and very cheap loli stopped playing for a long time and got back into the game several months ago when my brother got back into it.

Ahh nice, no problem. I mean the best thing to do (what I do of course) is slowly buy the cards you need. So for me with each check I get I spend maybe $20-30 on cards. I wouldn't recommend blowing all your money on a bunch of cards you want to add and then find out that you won't even use half of them (I have done this a few times from experience). I also play on cockatrice and test my decks out as much as I can before buying.

so dont do like my brother and spend about 560 on a zedikar booster bos and then 72 packs of Khans lol got it. ive been working on getting my new mona black deck set up whether i will be able to get teh phyrexian obliterators is debatable....$577 a month doesnt make it very far when thats your only income

Slow and steady wins the race. I see a lot of people blow too much money on the game when they are starting to either get back into it or new. You just need to take your time and hopefully your playgroup understands this and that they don't always play their best decks just to beat you down. Hopefully they have a couple of decks around your budget or level to play with. Well as long as everyone is having fun then its all good in my opinion.

well i dont often get to play wtih a group my brother lives about 35 miles away we have a friend that plays and his wife and brother play. ive been out there once. i occasionally proxy my cards so that helps or for edh i borrow my brothers decks(vaan104) he has a really brutal vampire deck for EDH

http://www.mtgvault.com/vaan104/decks/vampire-edh-2/

he gets a lot of board hate cuz they know what it can do before he added red to it they refused to play against it

Nice. I mostly only play EDH and causal 60 cards now. Everything else is just too much money to keep up with and I don't find it as interesting.

im particularly proud of these decks of my own design. i showed them to my brother and he offered a few suggestions but ive gotten a lot better at designing my own decks.
