Wanted a non-artifact centered strategy for esper in EDH, and I found Merieke. Used to be Dromar, the Banisher as commander but did not have a fun time against Karrthus Tyrant of Jund so I switched commanders.
The deck is full of ways to respond, use cards from your opponent's decks, and generally scrape an advantage from anything. Extorting plays a part, Blind Obedience and Loxodon Gatekeeper help stop haste aggro strategies. Just a general goodstuff EDH that holds its own quite well.
