Deck discussion for BUG counters, help?

Try getting that price range down to a reasonable level perhaps?

I pulled most of these cards from boosters, I believe the major money sinkers are the shock and split mana's, but awesome suggestion.

you may be the luckiest man alive to booster 17 of these rares and the 4 mythic rare biomancers, just saying from a statistics impressive. i would hate to play this deck if it was tweaked a bit

$200 is a respectable amount to spend on a deck if youre buying singles and planning on being competetive. most of my decks run upwards of $3-400. its not hard to do if you want the cards everyone wants. simple supply and demand

I actually pulled 2 Masters and traded friends for the other 2, I've pulled a bonfire of the damned and a holo temporal mastery from the same booster so I guess I'm pretty lucky.

I know isn't that a bummer, when some cards come out they are kind of low, but when they see tournament play they JACK UP THE PRICE HIGH....

most cards are projected high and either lose that value over the first few weeks of a set (Gideon from Gatecrash) or gain value over those weeks (Boros Reckoner went from $7 on gameday to $30 and leveled out at about $20) or stay the same (Ral Zarek from Dragon Maze has been between $28-$35 since prerelease)

Yeah ive personally only made fun combo decks which are def competitive and rarely draft, just buy the cards i end up needing. poor college student, dont judge lol

Hey guys I'm constantly revising this deck, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love them.

I also run this at FNM and most standard played decks that are any good cost an arm and a leg lol.

hinterland harbor seems less useful than more forests since you down have either swamps or islands

I've been constantly moving around the mana, I'll try your suggestion.

^lol.....come on man. he has a ton of Swamps and Islands. RTFC. Breeding pool is an Island, Overgrown Tomb is a Swamp, Watery Grave is both.

Renegade Krasis and Increasing Savagery's are staples in +1/+1 counter decks.

1

Krasis may not have risen to staple status yet, but he is good. Savagry, on the other hand, I agree with 100%

0

When I ran with Increasing Savagery's I had about 2 of them, what would you suggest to take out and how many to put in?

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 00:23

Desecration demon. trade all 3 for 3 savagry

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 00:24

Honestly, probably Plasma Capture. It's neat, but it's only really worth the 4 mana if you're running cards with X costs.

agreed for maybe not on the krases though fun cards for sure, maybe 1 less bioshift and burst of strength apiece? but i do love arbor elf and burst of strength. quite the conundrum

0

Originally I had Renegade Krasis but the problem I had with him was it seemed I could only evolve him about once or twice depending if I had Master Biomancer on the field or not.

crowned ceratok perhaps?

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 00:29

Yeah that's a good idea the only gripe I have with him is his mana cost, but I'll try it out, THNX.

Anyone know if Simic manipulator is any good in this deck, I was trying to run with him in my deck but idk if I should ?

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 00:34

simic manipulator isnt good in any deck. I like Plasma Capture better than Desecration Demon here, because, while it is a 4 mana counter, it sets you up great on the next turn for a big creature with X in the CC thats missing from this deck....hmmmm.....

Primordial Hydra maybe?

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 00:37

I will try Hydra, but what should I take out for it, the first draft of this deck had hydra over Master Biomancer but that was before I had any Masters.

What do you guys think of adding Gyre Sage, I had her in here as well but I felt like I had too much mana ramp ?

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 01:04

-1 Biomancer
-2 Vorel (who isnt great here....decent, sure)

+3 Hydra

0

Also my previous revised version I ran with 2-3 rancor's, what do you guy's think about that? I mostly used them on Master Biomancer for the added counters other creatures would receive.

dissipate is better than Plasm Capture (I know I said earlier I liked it, but looking again, its slow) and Spell Rupture. Maybe dont run counters at all. I like Cyclonic Rift, because it deals with all permenants. I would drop your counters, add 3 Cyclonic Rift, Drop a Burst of Strength and a Bioshift and add 3 Urban Evolution (or farseek, to fix your mana early if UE doesnt work out)

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 01:19

Nice suggestion, I didn't think of Cyclonic Rift at all.

What do you think about crowned ceratok like bsaf suggested, the only problem I have with him is that he's another 4 drop card.

0

to be honest, its OK, but not great. you need some early game stuff, and you dont have many great scavenge targets. maybe drop Varolz and add Strangleroot Giest

0

I trimmed 1 Putrey and 1 Corpsejack as well as 1 Varolz for 3 strangleroot's.

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 01:54

I just dont see any good scavenge targets for Varolz....he works best with things like Diregraf Ghoul, Vexing Devil, and Slumbering Dragon

Good point, took him out.

What about these cards?
Blessings of Nature
Garruk Relentless
Geralf's Messenger
Hindervines
Necropolis Regent
Nimbus Swimmer
Prime Speaker Zegana
Ulvenwald Bear
Undying Evil
Vorapede

at one point or the other I had these in my revisions.

0

I like Garruk, Primal over Relentless. his card draw option is huge. and Messanger is decent as well, but the BBB is tough to get in a 3 color deck and not become sidetracked. the rest are pretty meh, imo

0
Posted 15 May 2013 at 02:20

Yeah I had the same problem with Geralf's which is why he was taken out.

Switching hydras in for the desecration demons seems like a solid plan, looking a lot more trim now! However I would personally say that Varolz deserves to see the light of play with one copy; if you're running BUG and corpsejack there is little reason not to have one. That ability just might be what wins you the game , and with the creatures you have minus the hydra the scavenge cost is fairly efficient for the # of counters youd be getting. food for thought

In any case I'm scrapping my simic standard for a mono green evolve/counters stompy cuz it seems like it'll be fun to play with, input much appreciated

the main reason to run Varolz is to scavenge CHEAP creatures, which this deck lacks. I dont think hes good here. especially since his ability is sorcery speed. Bloodrush is better as a wincon, simply because its cheaper and faster. dont get me wrong, I love Varolz, but he just doesnt fit as well here as he does other places.
