Deck Description

I spent the weekend watching magic coverage, and after watching 6 hours watching standard i took apart my standard ensoul artifact deck, and I built this monstrosity you see above. big credit to fabiano, but he sided in his tasigur every single match, so im just starting with them main board

Deck discussion for Sultai standard

Tas is nuts and needs to be in the main.
Something I have not seen yet but has to be tried out is Monastery Siege in a delve happy deck!

Agree about Tas and the only decktype that I can think of that will not use him is UB or Sultai Super friends creature free control... (hint, hint)

Only against abzan and RDW
(the two my friends have built.) no FNM or PPTQ play yet. abzan matchup is really good. as long as i live till turn 6-7 i start to take over the game. Red deck wins seems 50-50, although same thing, if i make it through early game i will see enough removal to win. SB in feed the clan and negate and it seems easy. after watching fabiano this type of deck is top 3 in the format

Type your deck name...Playtested yesterday, 30 matches against abzan, mono green, and temur. won 26, got absolutly mana screwed in two that i lost. dropping ugin was usually game. its playing really well

That is awesome! Was wondering tho, why Disdainful over Negate in the main? Seems more important to protect the Super friends then any creature that might be scary...

you kow im still kinda on the rocks on that. its nice because it hits seige rhino's and dig through times and planeswalkers, but hero's downfall sucks

Yea, seems like a slight over reaction if Rhino, (Butcher?), is all that it is there for.

So I have ran this deck 3 times now, all with good results. went 4-1 on gameday, losing to tokens in the last round ( i was fighting for first, due to tie breakers fell to 3rd in a 24 man event.) at 2 fnm's ive gone 3-1, always placing. I did change the sideboard and 2 cards main

So by now you should have figured out why Disdainful lives in the main?
That aside, what are your allstars in here? (Fishing for ideas)

Tasigur and ashiok take ove games. ashioks ultimate (if you can get it) is pretty much an auto win vs control decks. tasigur is always cast for one, and just wreaks havoc, usually getting me a kill spell back in my hand the same turn i cast him

Why no dissolve's in the main deck? You don't seem to have many ways to counter early threats and are leaning too heavily on bile blight, which can be a really awkward card to try to be casting on the early turns if you don't consistently get BB. Also is there any reason why you don't have Pearl Lake Ancient in your main or sideboard?

sultai control really doesn't want either of those. Its a reactive deck, but it can afford to let things resolve against it. It is compared to UB control a lot unfortunately, but is quite different. If you have a chance you should watch fabiano's videos of him playing it during the SCGIQ, pretty amazing. I have edited this for my play, but that gives some insight

Alright that's fair. I do like the tech of Wayfinders to help hit your land drops and make your delve cards cheaper... :3 I'm surprised you have the garruk and kioras in the deck, how have those been working out?

I love the garruk. turn 7 him, turn 8 ugin is just a hose. kiora is iffy, but even just minusing her twice helps. if they are stuck on one creature she can end the game

Gotcha, you have any problems with mono red or any other aggro decks? Seems like it can be pretty shakey to stabilize against them with the small amount of early interaction you have.

sorry I just had to go through my paper copy and update this list to match, I have been slow to update the vault. mono red was my biggest issue, so I went heavy on the sb the. 4 feed the clans and 4 drown in sorrow really was a boost

There being enough decks that are fast enough to slip underneath control and mono red devotion about to become a thing again I'd definitely play a minimum of 1 Sorrow main. Probably in place of a Downfall. I'd also recommend a Vault main for those unforseen moments, (like an opposing Garruk).
