A nice combo you could add to this deck that involves the Apostles: Phyrexian Altar and Consume Spirit.Just a suggestion.

Bennyboy, to respond to your last argument: Detention IS in standard it was printed in return to ravnica. Also, I meant that if you have one detention spheres and two o-rings then the combo would still work.
If you can flash out the Glistener at the beginning of your opponent's first turn (they also have to go first), then you can use any combination of the pump-ups plus Assault Strobe to win on your first turn.

Detention Sphere would work as an o-ring, an it's standard. You just need to splash blue, and that would also open up a lot of control spells to last you until your combo.

Thragtusk itself may be a good card, but it doesn't really contribute to the main goal of the deck. Also, it would ruin the budgety part of this deck.
Why not splash green? With two creatures, Dangerous can get all blockers out of the way to let the lethal cyclops get through if you don't have teleportal.
