Deck Description

Blink/Control

Not to blow smoke, but this deck matches up exceedingly well against all deck types.

Essentially, this deck tries to draw lots of cards and make your opponents do the opposite, while constantly recycling cards so you can play them more than just once or twice.

With such a wide diversity of one-of s, you have a great draw spectrum to make the most out of any opportunity, while still staying safe yourself.

Land variety keeps you safe with easy access to any color you may need at every point in the game without hiccups.

All in all, this deck guarantees you stay multiple steps ahead of your enemies by having an answer to any and everything they may throw at you.

How to Play

Basically, you are trying to get as many creatures out as you can while you keep re-using all your ETB effects over and over again, keeping your opponents way down and you way up. With so many low-cost cards that can do so many different things, you can usually protect yourself from any situation, hence the Deck Name. Planar guide can be devastating if you have a full field and even if you don't he can stop attacks, dis-enchant, restore/protect your creatures and kill tokens well enough. Rite of replication can be kicked to exploit Angel of Despair, destroying 5 permanents AND giving you five 5/5 flyers (usually that's enough to win the game), or can be played for a variety of other effects (drawing 10 cards with Mulldrifter, re-animate 5 creatures with Karmic Guide, etc.) The large amount and diversity of control spells (such as Boomerang, Dream Fracture, Path To Exile, Feeling of Dread, etc.) keeps you safe until you can dish out 2-3 or more blinks a turn, at which point you are fully taking advantage of the diversity in creature effects to decimate you opponents. I've found that this deck makes having any cards in your graveyard a HUGE convenience because there are so many ways to access the cards there (Reveillark, Snapcaster Mage, Karmic Guide, Exhume, Mnemonic Wall). Venser as a planes-walker is pretty cool, as his +2 effect can be used to accomplish almost anything under the sun. Mnemonic Wall can let you play any instant or sorcery you have an unlimited amount of times if you keep him blinking, usually for Infini-counters (Countersquall, Dreamfracture), Infini-creature removal (Path To Exile, Boomerang) Infini-reanimation (Exhume), or Infini-Blink EFFECTS (Ghostway), INFINI-etc. anything you can think of.
