Junk Utility has been a deck archtype since the apocalypse days of pernicious deed and vindicate. Here is my own take on Junk. Each card has been selected for its ability to do work against a variety of opposing stratagies. Let me know what you think and/or if you have any suggestions. Lililana of the veil: Long term disruption and creature removal. Elspeth, Knight-errant: Creates blockers/threats and serves as an excellent pump. Lingering souls: Liliana fodder and creates blockers/threats to carry equipment. Inquisition of Kozilek: Crippling vs combo decks and good against all others. Crime//Punishment: Crippling vs affinity, can be a 4 for 1 on turn two. Surgical sweep at all stages of the game and can drop a threat later in the game. Path to exile/Abrupt Decay/Beast Within: Just an excellent removal package. Beast within is especially important vs decks like tron, as I have limited tron defense. Plus my creatures can easily handle a 3/3 beast token. Also deals with plainswalkers. Deathrite Shaman: All-star that does work at every stage of the game. Another equipment target. Scavenging ooze: He will do more work in modern than in legacy. Loxodon Smiter: Liliana defence, and a uncounterable and efficient creature. Doran, the siege tower: An increadably efficient beater, and can hurt a lot of deck like mono red or any deck that runs cranial plating. Spellskite: Maybe the most important creature in the deck. Absorbs removal. Amazing against red decks / splinter twin/ enchantment based decks. Become a beater with Doran out and is just as capable of carrying a sword.

Six consecutive first place finishes against =20-25 players. Always does well at any rate. Its prolly at its best when your entering a new meta, since it has a variety of cards that can deal with a variety of strategies. The key is for every deck, have those few cards that can just cripple it. While everything else can do enough extra to win you the game.
