Try See Beyond. You draw two cards and shuffle one card from your hand back into your deck. Also, anything that says "draw one. discard one"

You are unable to find Darksteel Axe with Trinket Mage, as it cost 2 to cast. Trinket Mage only finds 1 cc artifacts.

I think having the Fire Servant in there is irrelevant. Its always fun busting out a fireball for a ton, but the servant is subject to any piece of removal. When you think you've got your opponent beat, they remove the Servant and foil your plan.

Only thing I can see that would improve this deck is Zuran Orb.

First thing that I notice here is the mana curve. you have quite a few spells that are 5+ and you only have 21 lands. You might run into some mana problems along the way. I don't think Silence is going to do the job in the 'spells' department. Look into picking up some Day of Judgement. I don't think they are that expensive, so it shouldn't hurt your wallet too much. Maybe even exchange your Ajani's Mantra with 2 Honor of the Pure. pump up them low casting cost creatures until your big guys come out.

The only reason I have them in this deck is for the Bloodghast. If I sacrifice Bloodghast to any of the creatures that have the ability, I can always fetch for a swamp and bring the Bloodghast right back into play.

you can sac him to scry 1, then put 2 +1/+1 counters on a creature that is equipped with the blade.
Then you lay down a fetch land and bring him back in. Sav him again to repeat the process.
Then you can sac the fetch land to do it again.

and everytime a vamp goes into the graveyard with Kalastria Highborn out, I can also gain 2 have opponent lose 2.

it's fun. :)

There are so many reasons why I am confused right now... But I will move passed that.

Not sure why it says Valakut, but whatev. I understand the idea behind the deck. And it looks like it could work. First thing I noticed was the Birds of Paradise that just don't belong here. If you're going for value, just throw in some Lotus Cobras. First turn Hedron Crab, second turn Cobra. then you'll be on your way to Jace-land in no time. Just millin fools. :)

have you thought of Jace's Erasure?
Oracle of Mul Daya?

Few suggestions:
Only because I am not a huge fan of equipment, I would take out the Viridian Claw. Perhaps exchange them for Flayer Husk. Or even just drop them and add 2 Bonehoard and 2 Blight Mamba.

Also, your curve is a bit high. By putting in the Harrow and Cultivate you are taking up your turn 3 which is the best time to drop that Cystbearer that everyone loves so much. (or even a Rot wolf).

I think Explore is a better option for a ramp type spell. You can lay an extra land while gaining a bit of card advantage. So on your 3rd turn you can drop Ichorclaw + Blight mamba. Or just a nice Blightwidow (which you should have some of, cause it's awesome).

Hope this helped a little.

if you have a 13/13 Death's Shadow... you lost the game.
But I really like where your head's at on this one. Utilizing a card that everyone cast away as unplayable. Way to go!!

Couple things that need some work.
first of all, i would cut it down to 60 cards to maximize performance.
Heat ray is an alright card. But you get so much more out of cards like Galvanic Blast, Lightning Bolt, and Arc Trail.
Foresee is an awesome card as well. But I think you would get much more value out of the Preordain or putting in Jace's Ingenuity.
Redirect and Reverberate are definite Sideboard cards as well.
Love all of the Myr though. it's fun seeing all of them in a deck. :)

Hopefully more people will comment and help you out. I like the deck so far!!

Sorry, one last thing.
I don't like Ichor Rats so I would trade them in for some Septic Rats.
and possibly add in some Corrupted Conscience somewhere. Maybe even throw them in your sideboard.
alright. good luck and have fun!!!!

Nice idea for the deck. Love seeing U/B without Jace or Tezz (eventhough I am a huge fan of both)
I would kick the Virulent Wound to the sideboard. having three of is a bit cumbersome when you are up against decks without many creatures, or creatures that are x/1.

With having Distortion Strike and Sleep in the mainboard you might run into a problem seeing as how they are both trying to do the same thing which is getting creatures through untouched. My idea of infect is to just run them into every creature your opponent has... make em suffer a bit :) Then destroy!

These are my suggestions, and only an opinion.

-4 distortion strike +4 Preordain
-2 Sleep +2 Corpse Cur
-3 Steady Progress +3 Phyrexian Crusader
-3 Virulent Wound +3 Phyrexian Vatmother.

Check it out. you might like it.
Hopefully I have helped out a little.

To increase your chance of winning, I would add some more relevant creatures. By having skinrender in your mainboard, you're leaving yourself open to a dead draw. Meaning that if you draw the skinrender and you're opponent doesn't have any creatures out, then you're not going to be able to play the 'render. Instead of having the 'renders in there, try adding some Gatekeeper of Malakir. With having Liliana's Caress in here, I think it would be a huge help if you added in Liliana Vess. And also add Liliana's Spectre for some evasion, and some discard.

Hope this helps a little.

I absolutely love decks like this.
Try putting in one Myr Tribune. I see you don't have any five drops.
So maybe that would fill in a little gap?

other than that. I love it.

but... can i be that guy that says..

"Add a blightsteel Colossus!!!"

I like your curve. You've got some really fun stuff in here. Even though it's a gimic deck I would def have some fun playing this.

Great job!

only thing I would do is add some fetch lands to pump your Ob Nixilis, the Fallen.

One thing that I have always thought about discard decks is the inability for it to deal damage.

For example: Turn one you cast Duress/Inquisition/Quest.
Turn two you cast either Liliana's Caress or another discard/enchantment.
At this point you have either put a counter on your enchantment and had them discard one.
or they've discarded two (or none at all if you're missing with your Duress/Inquisition)
Turn three you have a few more options on what to do.
Adding 2 Vampire Nighthawk wouldn't be a bad choice because not doing much your first two turns then throwing down a nighthawk will def get you back in the game (unless removal kills it of course).

Your later turns in the game will def put out some damage.
But you have to be able to get there.
I would take out the Royal Assassins and think about putting in Go For the Throat, Grasp of Darkness, or Doom Blade. And Skinrender is definitely a sideboard card. If you go to play him and the opponent doesn't have any creatures out... it's a dead draw.

Perhaps add some Gatekeeper of Malakir.

Liliana Vess is beautiful for this deck. She loves you. You love her.

Painful Quandry is such a kick in the nuts. But it eats up your turn five.

Fall in love with Liliana's Specter as well.

-4 Moriok Replica +3 Black Sun's Zenith and anything else.

I hope this helped and you don't just hate me for writing a book. :)
Good luck!!!

What everyone means by 'fetch' lands is cards like: Marsh Flats, Misty Rainforest, Arid Mesa, Scalding Tarn (Those are all of the expensive ones) and there is also: Teramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wild (these are about 0.25 cents). They work really well with the landfall guys.

I agree with the others in saying that you should drop it down to 60 cards.

and adding controllish cards like Mana leak, Cancel, and deprive would work well.
Deprive would also help you out with your landfall.

Hello. So far so good. I like the idea of this. It's not your normal run of the mill deck.
So, what I see first is the mana needs just a little fixed. Perhaps just add 3-4 Dragonskull Summit. Also, if you're looking to add the battlecry aspect to the deck, you're going to want to start with Signal Pest. It is seeing play in a lot of Kuldotha decks and is working out just fine. So I would take out the Death's Shadow and the Skitter Lizards and put in those. Another Land you can think of is Contested Warzone. Awesome for aggro. Good luck!!!
