Deck Description

This deck is built for multiplayer.

How to Play

First thanks to everyone for the suggestions so far, i've changed a bit. It looks very different than my original. I lost my pestilence theme, but I liked the idea of building a really good Vamp deck as this is where the advice led me to. So here it is. The deck is pretty straight forward now. Cast vampires and attack. If any creatures die, all opponents are made to suffer. It turns the draw back of diabolic intent into a benefit.

Deck discussion for Unholy Vampire Slaughter

Vamp decks are hella fun tribal. I like the use of W/B, but I was wondering if you considered three significant cards for this style of deck. Dark Imposter can be a massive annoyance for opponents. Sorin, Lord of Innistrad is the planeswalker for these sorts of decks, and is getting cheaper all the time. Also, Feast of Blood is a great removal for tribal vampire, and its a two drop that gets you a nice chunk of life back.

Sorin would be a solid add to this deck for sure, and feast of blood would be great. Im looking at it to see any possible switches. I play with friends and we multiplayer. I always complain like a 7 year old who had his GI Joe taken when people take my stuff in multiplayer. So on pure principal, I won't put in Dark Imposter :D But it is a good addition. Thanks for the input.

This is a very different take on a Vampire Deck. Two thumbs up for being original.

My only suggestion is maybe replace Reassembling Skeleton with Bloodghast because he continues to come back from the graveyard with landfall and will also benefit from bloodline keeper and Vampire Nocturnus making him a returning threat, while the Skeleton is more or less a returning chump block.

here is my vamp deck.

Thanks, the skeleton is so awesome! How could I ever take him out...LOL seriously though, I'm hearing you, Bloodghast is solid, I shied away from it because it can't block...but thats probably silly, thinking I might put it in for Nether traitor as suggested bellow, I'll check out your deck and comment when I get the chance. Thank you for the input.

Bloodghast is significantly better than Nether Traitor in most decks. And it's a vampire...

Feast of Blood is an excellent fit for any vampire tribal. Blood artist would be excellent as well

I also don't think Elixir of Immortality pulls its own weight. It's lifegain in a deck that doesn't need it, and a reshuffle in a deck that shouldn't get there.

Consume spirit or feast of blood its coming down to I think. Bloodghast probably will end up in it as well. Thanks for the advice.

Looks like you are getting some awesome feedback on this deck. Just to strengthen my suggestion for bloodghast, remember he is a vampire and can be affected by the other vampires abilities. you can attack constantly with him, there is no point in holding him back because he cant block, that sounds even more impressive when we can take into consideration he can be returning as a 4/3, or 6/4, or 8/5 depending on how many bloodline keepers and nocturnus you have on the field.

hell, in late game, he gains haste if the opponent is below 10 life. He could return and immediately swing for lethal damage!

I would choose bloodghast hands down because he creates some really big pressure for your opponent to deal with over, and over and over again. it gets even better if you have 2 or more of him on the field.

Also, Soul Stair Expedition. great card that I think fits with your deck's style

Yes, I think the bloodghast is going to win out. Also, the Bloodghast comes back without having to spend mana. I haven't tested it yet, but sometimes logic doesn't need to be tested, I think I will make the switch. Soul Stair seems solid, ill put it into consideration.

Loose killing wave, Elixir of imortallity and Sun Droplet. The rest is solid. You might want Bad Moon, Bloodchief Ascension (really, REALLY powerfull vampiric enchantment. Perhaps the only one that can be considdered a Tribal vamp enchant.) and Gravepact. I would reccomend bloodghast over Nether traitor but then we'd have to crew around with your lands which would just be pointless. Cabal coffers could snowball you completly out of control and if you feel you still need some lifegain, Consume Spirit will remove more or less anything and give you a chunk of health . I'll be monitioring with intrest.

Awesome advice, loving the bloodchief ascension over the sun droplet, already made the switch. I toyed with cabal coffers, but I wanted to add the white for the blood baron, you think they would still work even with the white? Maybe 3? Consume spirit is a good one as well. Thanks for the advice and I'll be looking to make switches later today when I get some time to think about it more...thanks again.

If the only reason you run white is blood baron, I would considder not running it unless what you want from him is just a creature that is hard to kill. I've played with him quite a bit and though it's a good creature, I notice most run him to win more instead of just winning.

By the way, pestillence is a filler. It does nothing for you except waste mana and space. Grave pact as a four drop instead? (Sangromancer + gravepact?:D) Oh and btw, bloodchief ascension stacks. If you have 4 filled up, thats 8dmg+life and you add counters the same way. Thanks for the thumbs up vote.

edit: as a final note, I see someone recommending Butcher of Malakir. You will never have enough mana to cast him. You can get enough for Anowon, the Ruin Sage though. Just sayin'

My poor pestilence. I so love the card, but yet again logic trumps. I'm thinking I can still keep the theme, your creatures go bye bye with Anowon! Plus it still work in multiplayer. He will just be the pestilence. I'm thinking also I agree with sangromancer. I can pull out the Baron's. He is just awesome, but I'm liking it. Going to update. Thank you.

Not bad but what makes them unholy, they look like pretty standard vampires from where i stand.

A few things:
1) Cemetary Gate provides you with a cheap protection from black creature without having to make use of a low-toughness white creature.
2) " The nether traitors and reassembling skeletons can come back after pestilence. They can also serve as early blockers" The Nether Traitors have shadow and will therefore not be able to block 99,99% of all creatures. However, the Blood Ghast that has been suggested to replace him can't block either.
3) Sangromancer would fit much better into this deck than Bloodline Keeper!
4) I'd like to see a single Butcher of Malakir in this deck. He would be your finisher and "boss" of the bunch. Also, he is sick with Pestilence and your Skellis. Also, he is your answer to any opposing creatures that aren't fazed by Pestilence such as proto: black, regenerators, indistructables and so on.
5) Falkenrath Noble also seems to be a good addition.
6) I don't think you have the mana do make good use of Consume Spirit.

done! Also, I like the bloodline because it makes 2/2s to sacrifice, and eventually will all give vamps +2/+2. You think the sangromancers life gain trumps that ability? Or maybe a 2 and 2 situation?

I would personally choose Bloodline Keeper. Sangromancer does fit the deck's synergy, but I think Bloodline Keeper's ability make it a much stronger deck.

Ok the possible switches are in the sideboard. Im going to test a few options out to see how it runs. Thanks again and I'll keep the results updated.

A sideboard tasty treat I like is Mindcrank. It may not seem like much at first, but Mindcrank and Bloodchief Ascension are an infinite combo. Just in case you have that one person who always wins :P

Best of Luck to you!

Skeletal Vampire would be really good, semi high manna cost, but it can constantly come in and out of battle.

I've been looking for a solid modern and this might work except that I would have to replace the Diabolic Intent, say with the Diabolic Tutor?
