In this deck, the Gargoyle is often better in hand than on the battlefield as it can be discarded to Lightning Axe and Tormenting Voice. And if Vessel of Nascency reveals it, I'll almost always put it into the graveyard.

I opted for red over black as I currently don't have access to Grim Flayer outside of ordering a set, otherwise I'd definitely go black. Now that I'm thinking of it, it'd be easy to splash black in here just for him, hmmm...

Grapple with the Past is a great card, but I think I have enough loot / discard / etc. already. After testing this a bit, I may consider it.

The Gargoyle is in here to be put into the graveyard (or block and die). It's both an artifact and a creature, so that's two types towards Delirium. After testing, if I find it to be too much of a gimmick, I'll remove it, but for now it stays.

I already have 3 Soul Swallower in the deck. Considering dropping a land to put the 4th one in.

The only reason I put two Cinder Glade in is I currently only own two. I'd play a full set if I could. Hell, I'd use Game Trail in addition to the Cinder Glades, if I had them.

They provide protection from two colours and have triggered effects when the creature deals damage to the opponent. The protection helps them get through, and the triggered effects are extra awesomeness.

Anyone else notice that since these posts got to the front page that there's been an increase in the number of people actually tagging their work and / or using the deck description / how to play sections? Or am I just imagining things?

I agree with everything you said here.

The Hot page is so bad that I don't even 'visit' the Hot page at all. The bookmark I use to access this site takes me strait to the New page, and I chose to do this because that's where the site is the best (imo).

We used to have a sister forum site, and it was awesome. Not sure what happened to it though.

And the teacher can always learn from the student too. What i mean is that the longer you do something, the more stagnant you get, and helping someone new is a great way to shake those cobwebs.

Let us not forget that Gods Willing can be used offensively too, just give protection from the colour of creature(s) that can block.

I'm not sure how good it is in practice, but Silent Arbiter seems like it would be fun in an exalted deck, and with 8 mana dorks, you shouldn't have a problem paying its mana cost of {4}.

If Artful Dodge went in, the lands would be reworked to get the double casting.

Elusive Spellfist may have the unblockable built in, but it still benefits off the casting of the spell.

That's great. Kitchen table magic is fun and not a problem. If you tag your decks as Kitchen table, people will know before even clicking on the deck.

No it's not. It's an Eldritch Moon card, so it'll be legal as of Friday this week (22 July 2016).

It is a great resource, but it is the community that is somewhat "dead".

Tree of Perdition was made for Triskaidekaphobia :p

Also, a set of Evolving Wilds wouldn't hurt. It help mana fixing and thins out the deck slightly, increasing the chances of drawing nonlands.

Instead of commenting on your own deck, posting exactly what you said here in the description of the deck would be better.

There another side to that coin. People, like myself, ignore the decks with no description. I view it as lazy and antisocial. Also, there's a lot of decks that can look the same, but can go in completely different directions, and without a description, the reader does not know which direction you want to go.
