Couldn't have said it better myself.

Surprisingly strong too. I've beaten a few tournament decks with it :p

Not too old. I'm 30 (turning 31 this year) and I'm the youngest of the "older memebers" in my club.

Oh dam. There goes that idea :(

Here's another one: Lightning Axe allows you to play Alms of the Vein and Fiery Temper for their Madness cost while getting rid of an opponent's creature.

Oath of Chandra is effectively a sorcery 3 damage for 2 mana.

Out of curiosity, how old is "old ass man"?

I was going through my cards because Standard has rotated and I found another creature that can be looped with Food Chain: Torrent Elemental. While it costs one more mana than Misthollow Griffin, because of its return from exile ability, it isn't cast like Misthollow Griffin, so it can't be countered; and you get to choose from black or green for the combo.

This deck is block constructed. I said so in the description and in the tags. Collected Company is not in the Shadows Over Innistrad block.

I realised a while ago, you reach front page because of likes, nothing else.

I actually have two Modern ideas I'm looking at working towards:

Oh The Horror:
http://www.mtgvault.com/dedwards/decks/oh-the-horror/
Uses Thing in the Ice and Hunted Horror.

Nahirikul:
http://www.mtgvault.com/dedwards/decks/nahirikul/
Is a single track deck meant to fetch Nahiri, then Ulti her to fetch Tentacruel :P

Dreamscape Artist may be worth considering, especially with Roil Elemental out.

-2 Mountain
-4 forest
+4 Evolving Wilds
+2 Moonlight Hunt

26 lands is a bit much. Evolving Wilds helps with mana fixing and reduces chances of drawing too many lands.
And who can say no to more kill?

I like the inclusion of Tainted Strike.

Teetering Peaks may be worth considering too. "free" +2/+0

Well, to get the mobs to look at it, we need to get it onto the front page. I'm going to hit the like button to help.

I know the exile clause doesn't trigger Omnath, but they do if they are killed. If they're exiled because they weren't killed, that normally means that they weren't blocked and the opponent took 6 to the face :p

As for what to take out, I'd start looking at non-elementals first, even if they do cool stuff.

With enough lands out, a Bear Umbra on the Hellkite can achieve the same result. Hell, if you have one of each Dragon attacking with one of them enchanted with the Umbra, you can still get the combo with just one land out :p

Also, Commune with Nature and Commune with the Gods will 'tutor' in colour, allowing you to drop the black. Evolving Wilds can search for lands and thin the deck a bit to increase the chances the Commune cards have of tutoring a creature (or enchantment).

Young Wolf and Strangleroot Geist will be great.
Skarrgan Pit-Skulk is another good creature.
Llanowar Reborn helps supply +1/+1 counters. As does Gavony Township.
Bramblewood Paragon gives creatures you control that have +1/+1 counters on them trample. She also gives warriors that enter the battlefield a +1/+1 counter.
Solidarity of Heroes doubles the number of +1/+1 counters on a creature at instant speed. It also has Strive, so mid - late game it can double multiple creatures' counters.
Hunger of the Howlpack puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature. Three +1/+1 counters if a creature died this turn.
Bioshift can move counters around. Hardened Scales actually increases the number of counters moved.
Scavenging Ooze is great graveyard hate that also gains +1/+1 counters.

Dam, you beat me to it. I was tinkering with a design using a number of artifacts used in "Eggs" + Reshape to fetch the combo pieces, though I was going to include Myr Reshaper too.

Essence Sliver was printed in Time Spiral with the purple expansion symbol, thus it is legal in Modern.

When in doubt, you can always double check on Gatherer:

Essence Sliver would work well with Sanguine Bond. Essence Sliver's ability is NOT lifelink, so it stacks for each additional Essence Sliver out.
