Deck discussion for Eldrazi Spawn Swarm

Consider adding
gravepact (sac a spawn, they lose a creature)
more perilous forays (empty deck of land)
more spawn spawners

Consider removing
phyrexian plaguelord(Does not make the most use of mana or high creature count)
endrek sahr (Bit rubbish especially with eldrazi)
Hell's Caretaker (Good card, not amazing in this deck)

I did originally have a grave pact in it, but it's quite an expensive card to buy, along with eldrazi monument and awakening zone.
My thinking behing the hell's caretaker was that you can sacrifice, for example, dread drone to get back a kozilek's predator, so you get the extra spawns as well as power up for mortician beetle and health from both essence warden and deathgreeter. Next turn you sac the kozilek's predator (or the same turn if both caretakers are in play) to get back dread drone, meaning more spawns, power ups and health.

I suppose, it sucks that you have a budget otherwise 4* doubling season + 4* spawnsire of ulamog + 4* gravepact

And also could add in It That Betrays to go with the gravepact nicely

I would ditch skittering invasion for growth spasm, it is cheaper meaning you can play it earlier and it is some good mana ramp, also provides a spawn, I know skittering invasion provides 5, but this also grabs you a land, yet again decreasing your chances of a land draw when you don't want one.

oooooh, infinite combo alert: Put a thornbite staff on hell's caretaker:

1) Equip to hell's caretaker
2) tap: sac spawn producer a
3) thornbite staff untaps hell's caretaker
4) hell's caretaker pulls spawn producer b
5) It is still your upkeep so...
6) tap: sac spawn producer b
7) thornbite staff untaps hell's caretaker
8) hell's caretaker pulls spawn producer a
9) It is still your upkeep so...
10) Go To Stage 2

I'm having some of that, nice one. I wasn't too keen on the skittering invasions myself, so I'll get rid of those for some staffs.

I feel that marrow chomper is a bit redundant considering the amount of life you will be gaining from the warden and the greeter, perhaps another beetle and another pawn? (The beetle will easily come to outgrow the chomper in time since it grows even while on the field and the pawn will provide you with more spawn and works especially well with the caretaker.)

I left that in there from when I had the gravepact (would have been very nice with that)
But I do still quite like the marrow chomper without it, as it gives a very sudden boost your opponent might not be expecting, as it would also power up the beetle at the same time and gain even more health from the deathgreeter

You could achieve the exact same effect by sacrificing a load of spawn for mana and spending said mana on x cost spells like profane command (as suggested by FortyCakes), in fact profane command is better in pretty much every way, you can achieve more with it, destroy an opponents pride and joy through -x/-x, get a combo piece back if they killed the caretaker or just straight out kill your opponent if you have enough spawn. They both allow the sacrificing of creatures for a purpose and at the end of the day that is all the chomper was there for.

I just realised upon re-reading profane command that you get to choose 2 effects, it is now definitley going in.

also I would remove the hand's for another 2 pawns, 1 greeter and one essence, you want lots of spawn to use with profane command, the forays, the greeter and the wardens, also gives you more throw away blockers, the last thing is you have 0 flying defence except profane command which means you can take out all of two flyers assuming you draw both and have enough mana, something to think on.

Butcher of Malakir does the same job as gravepact, plus it's a flying creature, so that's now in, replacing one of the hands, along with a minion reflector as I already have one of those so it keeps the cost down. Profane commands are quite costly, so got rid of one for another deathgreeter. Roughly in budget now, just 37p over in magic madhouse prices (without buying the minion reflector or the essence wardens).

Also added in the scavenger drakes instead of the beetles. They have roughly the same effect, but are flying

+2 drake
+2 pawn
-2 hand
-2 essence feed

Then you will be done
The pawns are a more reliable source of spawn than essence feed while the drake is a better form of beef than the hand, also don't forget mana burn doesn't exist any-more so you can just sacrifice spawn for the heck of it if you will benefit from it due to death greeter or creature buffs.

I can't think of any more changes that would not take it out of budget, are you still happy with it?

would budget allow for another butcher? if you cut the minion reflector, there is little point in only having one of each and of the two the deck would be more powerful running two butchers than two reflectors...

the butcher is drawn as the second most expensive card with the caretaker, profane command being the most. I'm happy with it as it is
