Deck Description

A strange control exile based deck that is based around making opponents discard their hands, then exile their graveyards. I run both extirpate and surgical extraction to remove threads from deck and such after I kill, make them sacrifice or discard the big threats, and use paths to exile anything else that is annoying. After that it is stompy time with phyrexian obliterator with swords added for fun. played as a control deck with responses more then threats until their deck is missing key cards then you strike.

How to Play

Basic land and hand removal till you remove everything from the deck with extirpate, surgical extraction, or exile with path to exile. Swing hard and end, pretty much control with big creatures.

isochron scepter is always fun for casting a lot of a spell. It works well with basically any of your instants or sorceries (except maelstrom pulse)

Isochron is good but it's too slow for competitive games

do you think this deck would play well, will all the colors and stuff or should i take out the dual lands and try to just play without white and have less shocks?

You have a lot going on in this deck, and the two white cards just don't feel like they belong here. I like the overall idea, so I would say swap out your white cards for things that can maximize other aspects of the deck, like Waste Not. That gives you space for two more snapcaster also. Now by doing that, ten of your land can be changed out too. Swap the flooded strand for verdant catacombs, Godless shrine for a fourth watery grave, plains and temple garden for swamps, and isolated chapel for another forest. That's how I would fix the mana base

Thanks a ton, I actually have created an alternate of this deck without the white, in it.

But I added some questionable cards, don't know if it would run as smoothly or just be odd.

DISCLAIMER:
Haven't played Legacy/tournaments in a while.

* Hm, you try to do a lot of stuff at once. Haunting Echoes would be an alternative to the exile stuff you have so far, it would save up card slots. However, this would alter the structure of the deck - any card you exile with the Ooze or Shaman earlier can't be exiled with Echoes later and therefore less cards will get Lobotomized. The other things with Haunting Echoes is that if you include that, the deck will slowly shift to combo of sorts, before you'll know you add Traumatize and then the deck is on a path that has been done to death.

* Snapcaster Runemage alone isn't worth the trouble of splashing blue, especially not at 2 copies.

* Your main weakness would be fast creature decks.

* Thrun, while a good card, doesn't really fit because of the double-green mana (plus one more green to regenerate). It is hard to find a replacement though.

* Maelstrom Pulse ... this is tricky as well. Strong card, however, the more you Extract/Extirpate, the less useful it becomes. Maybe Vindicate is the better option here. Or Utter End?

* The Sword is a "win more" type of card here and therefore not needed.

* Birds of Paradise would both help out with the coloured mana and accelerate the other creatures and Pulse. Not sure either if this is enough.

* Depends on your meta but I always thought Duress is more useful than Despise/Inquisition in Legacy.

thanks a ton, that is quite helpful, i mainly added those few cards cause I have them in my collection but sounds good and I totally agree with the duress it is a very fast card and usually does just as good a job as the others. The maelstrom pulse is a tricky issue for me, because I love the card but I do see where you are coming from, maybe bile blight or something to deal with mass token spawns? and this is just a casual legacy, my friends and I play casually but like to adhere to format ban lists just so no one makes anything too insane or unfair to play against. I would like to splash blue for something but not exactly sure asides for the snapcasters, do you think vapor snag and jace mind sculptor would fit it more for blue? I like control and the haunting echos Idea, I was considering that card but, for the same reason you stated did not include it yet. I have also considered karn liberated, but again I'm unsure, because ashiok could work and so could the garruk, apex predator. The last card overall I have been considering though that would be a silly but fun card is clever impersonator. I would like to remove the white though honestly and make it sultai
