Deck Description

My god, there are some horrible decks on MTGvault lately... If you haven't heard from me in a while, it's probably because lately I feel this site's really been lack-luster. There are a majority of players who really can build great decks, and I'm not saying I'm one of them, but lately the front page has been massacred by weak decks with lots of comments... and in those comments include shitty advice.

I would have waited to post this, until the new innistrad cards officially are released on this site, but meh got bored.

I'm not saying this is the greatest deck ever by any means, in fact it still needs tweaking. I put this here for suggestions on said tweaks, and if somebody tells me to add jace 3.0 I'll shoot you. Just because he's blue and 30$ doesn't mean he's a good control card.. Smarten up, people.

Deck discussion for The New White-Blue

Yes, it's 61 cards. Get over it. There's so much dig in this deck it's ridiculous.

ANDDDDDDDDDD;
Forbidden Lure = Forbidden alchemy
Calcite Snapper = Snapcaster Mage
Null rod = Stony Silence

If you want explanations on choices, ask away.

i would drop to 2 sun titans, only 10 cards beside land you can hit so 3 is a bit too much

Add Jace 3.0! Hurhur! No, really, I'm joking. I understand the difference in control and mill. (Frankly, I hate both control and mill.) But I do have a few questions. 1.) Why a singleton Dismember? I understand that each one is equivalent to 4 life, but I still think that at least 2 would be preferred. 2.) Why visions of Beyond over Think twice? Without the mill, I would imagine the ability to grab two cards on a more regular basis would be more appealing. And 3.) Really, I don't get everyone's love with Snapcaster. I mean, the ability to flashback a few cards is great, but then you are paying dually for the snapcasters as well. I suppose with Sun Titan + Snapcaster, you can get quite the mileage, but still...

/shoots you. Hahaha,

Well dismember is a card that's come up a lot in testing debate. Sometimes it's really good, but other times it hurts more than anything. V.s. aggro you side it out, because 1/5th of your life to kill their dude is almost helpful to them, and I'd much rather draw a timely reinforcement over a dismember v.s. aggro. V.s. control you also side it out because it doesn't hit titans, and while yes it kills phantasmal image, so does everything else. Were I not running 3 daj of judgments and 3 ghost quarters, I'd agree to up the count. But if i ever do realllllly need a 2nd dismember, I have 4 snapcasters (who also help with day of judgment, which I'll adress further down).

Moving onto the vision of beyond, me and my friend who test together had to consider the meta. What decks will be big?
Well, the fact that man lands rotating out nulls the need for dismember in excess (no colonnade), and the fact that this is a graveyard based set means that 20 cards in a graveyard will be easily achievable. with all these dredge-like schematics and tactics going into new decks, it's ancestral recall. Who doesn't love ancestral recall? :D Also v.s. control, lategame you can flash it back with... snapcaster mage (see a connection with why snapcaster is so good?). Early game it's a cantrip that I'm guaranteed to get lategame. 4 snapcasters + 3 phantasmal images copying either my or someone else's snapcasters) + 3 sun titan + counter magic = at least 1 snapcaster. Trust me.

And finally, onto snapcaster... this card is the best blue creature ever printed. But why? well, every instant or sorcery card in my deck is now however many of them there actually are +4. I can just flash them back (hence a few one-ofs a.k.a dismember). in a counter war he means everything. v.s. aggro he's a potential flash in chump block that recurs me w.e. I need. In a tight situation he's a 6 mana day of judgment. he's everything you want out of your creature, and that's value.
Yeah, you could argue that "well those cards need to actually be in the graveyard to flash them back", but if they're not in the graveyard to begin with, chances are I'll draw one very soon with 7 dig spells... which i can then recur with snapcaster (see my point?)

Snapcaster will be banned in modern, legacy, and possibly standard seeing how crazy things get. Trust me, he is broken good. Knowing how to use him makes all the difference.

I hope I answered your questions lol, if you have anymore just ask ^.^

While I am fully in support of Snapcaster, I do feel you're off on a couple points. I really doubt he'll be so overpowered as to be banned in multiple formats, especially since they banned Mental Misstep in Legacy instead already. He's stellar, but I don't think a 3-mana, one time Brainstorm will be banned until Jace, the Mind Sculptor is first for sure.

The second part you're getting wrong is that he's not the best "blue" creature ever. Obviously that'd be Tarmogoyf silly.;) Tarmogoyf has been the ultimate win-con for blue control decks from the day it was printed. Snapcaster's close though. haha

Nah, trust us, it's blue =P

Joking aside, despite costing (1)(g) to play, Goyf is an insanely strong killer for blue decks, and it's ease of splashing has created the joke that Goyf is blue =]

The jokes aside, I still don't think you can say that Snappy (oh yeah, better get used to the nickname) is the best...he's good, but others can be argued too.

Snapcaster targeting what....nah I don't like that soooo... Surgical Extraction. Sorry bro. Extraction I think is an underplayed/rated card especially with the up coming set. I can see it now... I'll use my terrabad jace 3.0 to mill myself 10...hmm look a Ruinator...i'll exhile these 3 creatures and cast him... NO i'll pay 2 life and exhile him and all his buddies.

Also, I think U/W is going to much better suited to a Caw-Blade remix with Invisible Stalker replacing Hawks and maybe St. Traft or even Mirran Crusader replacing Jace 2.0. Potential for a garunteed Feast and Famine hit every turn after t3... seems good...

there's this nifty card called negate, it works. sorry bro.

and i had thought of that, but invisible stalker is overrated. yeah he's a pain to deal with, but on his own he's no real threat. he needs a sword, which are really vulnerable to a lot these days.
not saying it's bad, if it works out it's a pain, but like you said mirran crusader would be a much better choice.
the problem with geist is that he can't play defense... and in control that's really counter productive.

there's this new spectral procession card... midnight haunting i think? i think that card has a LOT of potential. 2 squad hawks for 3 mana, how nice. and it's an instant, :O

i can see spectral blade becoming big. but i feel invisible stalker will be more hype than fury.

0

Well the fact that really no one plays Negate MB and also that a U/W deck dropping Extraction will undoubtedly catch A LOT of players off guard helps it out a ton. Fact being that Stalker may not get 3 more copies but he's a hell of a lot harder to get around than a Squad Hawk, and we all know how much success Caw-Blade had. I also like Nihil Spellbombs coming out of SB right now. That basically kills any GY based deck, maybe throw in a Memory's Journey to SB in with 2 bombs. I personally just don't see GY being good in Standard right now. Mabye later in the block, that will remain to be seen although I do like the idea of bringing a semi-drege strat back to Standard!

Oh and yes Snapcaster Mage is studidly broken good, although I don't think it's really in the banable range being that you are going to have to basically leave 4 mana or more open to play him, which is great late game but if you have to drop him early to get back say a Leak or Removal Spell (other than Dismember) you're going to have to play around him too much... I think 2 maybe 3 max in a deck, 4 seems a bit much b/c you may end up with a dead card in hand early game.... but despite that...HE IS AMAZINGLY GOOD STILL!

1

Negate I think is a necessity! It wins the control mirror, and just hurts so many decks. I have 2 main 2 board, they're my favorite counterspell D:

memory's journey to me, is half weak. in uw at least, in green blue it is a really good suggestion. but when I have access to trinket mage, i'd just rather trinket mage, lol. andddd i have 1 bomb main, 1 board. which is access to 2 anyway :)

and sure, you can look at snapcaster costing 4 for a mana leak, or you can look at him as giving any instant/sorcery in your graveyard/deck flashback for the additional cost of 1B, and a 2/1 body... 4 mana for a counterspell and a dude is broken. just broken. and he can act as a day of judgment, too :O he's just so good.. i already have all my copies lol.

surgical is a realllly good idea though. i may tweak the sb to include it.

but also, what made squadron hawk so good, was once you drew one, you essentially drew them all. if stalker searched up all his bros, he'd be stupid good. people argue that squadron hawk was too good.. in white... can you imagine blue black getting squad hawk o.o ew

Glad to see you back man. I agree that the top decks have been pretty lackluster as of late, and I'm not entirely sure why (seems there's been a large influx of new[er] posters...might have to do with that).

I like this design a lot to be honest, the synergies it has are excellent, and it does very well what all control decks need -- Multiple uses.

S.E. is a pretty good idea to at least try out. This isn't even my bias here...the simple fact is this: Innistrad is about death. "Death" in magic means lots of crap in the graveyard. This fact, coupled with how damn useful (and I guarantee overused in the coming month) Snapcaster is...S.E. is a promising slap in the face.

I'm a bit 'meh' on the choice of Inkmoths...While it completely sucks that Colonnade is gone, I'm unsure if Inky is really needed for this deck =/

The fact that both GQ and Dissipate are back means that control is going to hit hard...whether Wizards meant for it to or not....And better yet, they work nicely in here =]

The last thing is I'm a little on the fence about Visions of Beyond. Yeah, it has powerful potential (as in, P9 potential), but I wonder just how often it will provide what you want when you need it. It's bonus is a catch-22...If you can draw the 3, then you're probably winning...If you NEED to draw 3, then you probably can't, and are losing =/

All in all though, I like this a lot. Have you seen my "The Dude Abides" deck, speaking of being fed up =P

Glad to see a familiar user comment on my deck again! Haha,

glad you like the design (: and now to offer my views on your concerns... :O

inkmoth was a card that at first, was just put in the deck for a chump blocker (if need be). But after testing, in a heavy control match, inkmoth is actually a solid threat. a 10 turn clock mightn seem like much, but in a control mirror, there are a lot of "draw-go"s, and 10 turns is actually not very many at all. especially when you have 2 out. (: sure, they can ghost quarter them, but there are 3 sun titans. and at worst, they block sworded dudes. I enjoy them, for my meta at least.

and visions was a card I was completely against playing at all. i didn't want it. it was a 1 mana draw 1 card, to me. and that didn't make the cut. until testing began. lategame it's amazing, and with snapcaster it's even moreeeeeeeee amazing. you have to hear me out on this.
think of all the people going to try and abuse that laboratory maniac. think of all the people going for reanimator. think of allll the late game control mirrors. think of all the mill decks. these are the new faces of standard (sadly...), and they make visions of beyond sooooo good. even in a control lategame, they're just pure value. I love the card, and the artwork is amazingggggg.

and yes I did see that deck, i commented, remember? :O it was really good! best deck I've seen from you in some time. :)

thanks for the comment/like, I really am glad you like it. (:

Oh that's right you did. I honestly hope that deck gets banned...the whole damn thing. Trash all but the lands, that would make my day. If I'm in a really good, or really bad mood, I tend to make my best works. In the case of my current PAL design, I was in a VERY good mood. In the case of the Dark Zoo, I was, and still am, annoyed with Wizards.

Anyways, the explanations make sense now that I think about it. With VoB especially, Wumps and I both ran these janky Filth decks that murdered with Splinterfright at our pre-release event...took 1st and 2nd. I was 14-1, Wumps was undefeated. The point being, Filth looks promising...very promising. And it uses the 'yard A LOT. In addition, against Filth, card advantage is a very good thing to have.

The idea of getting "quarter'd" was mainly what pointed me a little more away from Inky than towards it, because let's face it...it WILL get taken down, especially when that clock starts coming closer to killing them. I must have passed up the Suns though...because not only can you bring Inky back, but if you do get quarter'd, now you have land advantage...which in a control mirror...is pretty damn sexy =]

hehe, indeed I did. :'D
and wotc... ffs. mental misstep... i loved that card so much. SO, SO much. sure, it makes reanimator better, but now fows are shot up in price. :c

preordain, ponder? really? yeah, combo is rampant, but for f**k's sake... REALLY? stupid. just plain stupid.

splinterfright is one of the exact reasons I run 2 doj, and nihil spellbomb side, lol. he's such a pain. and congrats dude! i got 2nd in the innistrad draft (:

and ghost quarter is a tricky little card. would you rather kill their inkmoth, or lose your tempo... hard choice in a control mirror. which is another pro to having inkmoth! the more difficult choices, the better (:
we've tested the control mirror so much, it's not even funny anymore, hahaha. like at first i ran shape anew.. which was nice but was ultimately too dependent on combo pieces. then we tried hard control, which was nice but died to aggro more often than expected. and now.. this.

this was my design actually. my buddy is going off on some secret tech he thought of, while i was still insistent on the tempo that phantasmal image gave you. he combos well with sun titan, forces a trade early game, can copy snap caster which = godly... he's just too good to throw away. and sun titan is also excessively good with inkmoth, ghost quarter, ratchet bomb, snap caster... and of course chaining off of images is amazing.

i really do love this list.

Lurker> You don't. You either use his +2 ability (which is most of the time) OR, if you have board advantage, use his 0 ability and swing. I've used Gideon to swing for the win plenty of times, having that extra creature for no cost is a big boon. Oh, and, of course, there's his -2 ability for when you really need something dead. :D

Really nice build must agree that the Snapcaster's potential is ludicrous. There's so much you can do with him and then throw the sun titan in the mix and S*** starts getting real. Ghost Quarter is tricky but is just another insane card, it can take out man lands( inkmoth/the ability lands) and even cycle lands from your own deck like filter them out just another nice card. Again really nice Build. Hey can you give me some advise on my new "caw blade". Your always good with your decks and always helped with my other decks i'd just like to see what you'd think of this deck.

Mr. Ethan Lewis, I have got to say, I feel like an idiot not seeing the Sun Titan + Snapcaster Mage interaction before. I also want to say that I'm 85% sure that you have the best/most viable deck in the new standard. This isn't flattery, trust me, looking at the list, it is just so good.

So many people don't realize just how important the ability to dig through one's deck is. You get to your win conditions earlier, find answers for threats earlier, leads to having way less mana problems, and it just makes a deck list as a whole more successful. I agree so much with visions of beyond after having read all the comments made previously about it.

That said, I feel Surgical Extraction needs to be play tested in the Sideboard for this deck, for the exact reason mentioned earlier by Surewhynot. This is a graveyard set, and people will be using it. I wouldn't run as many as 4, but possibly 2. Maybe it'll be a bomb to play, maybe not. My point being is that I think it needs to be play tested.

Good luck, this is a really good list.

wow, thank you so much for the compliment! I'm glad you like the deck, and i really hope it lives up to credibility you've given in. So far in testing, it beats the control mirror, and has a really solid game vs aggro.

But surgical extraction is a card that keeps coming up in debate... and I think that you all are on to something. I updated the sideboard to include 2. Where as although they shine in some matches, in some they aren't needed.

Once again thank you for the compliment, and I really am glad you like the deck. This is my favorite list so far (:

Glad to see you back Ethan! And I have been saddened by the front page recently as well, even as much as seeing something that made me lose a bit of faith in the people who WANT to play XX-Lands...

The deck is fantastically designed against the standard meta, and I'm glad that you have the sense NOT to use Jace 3.0.
But that you also have the sense to use the synergies between Sun Titan, Snapcaster, and Phantasmal Image means you have not only twice the sense, but three times the sense of the average standard player.

Glad to be back, man. The front page is filled with... for lack of a better term, lack luster designs. :/

But also glad you like the deck! And thank you, (: Lately standard's just been clicking for me. Maybe it's that school has started again, and has my brain juices flowing, but magic seems to make so much sense now, lol. I'm especially excited with the fact that valakut is no longer around, or splinter twin. :'D

My friend is trying to break pod in his own route, it seems like the decks it's used in are.... Interestingly designed.

i hate pod with a burning passion.

"oh ill play this birthing pod turn 2, turn 3 play my viridian emissary, level it up with pod, get a land and bust out a 5/6", stupid, just stupid.

and man you could definitely enjoy standard, it's so wide open now (: and reanimator is on the rise ;P presumed to be top tier, actually :O

but thank you, once again. (: i feel im much better at standard than legacy, but I still try my best for both. I have a funny feeling I'll be making a u/w stoneblade deck soon for legacy !

Given rise of Stoneblade, I've kept tinkering with Stiflenought, and it's a hilariously done MU. Stoneblade is nice overall, but I just don't like the deck as much as I enjoy my graveyard decks.

As for standard Reanimator, that's actually what I was talking about with efficiency :/ It's so inefficient that it makes me sad that it holds that name.

And as for pod, I actually saw a Legacy version 0_o It wasn't that great, but it's something I'm thinking about looking into for kitchen mtg that isn't as balls out stupid as Dredge.

Those are quite some harsh words haha. Unfortunately, they're pretty much spot on.

I like this build a good bit. I don't know about having 26 lands (yes I know a lot of standard players have a million lands), but I do like the very focused creature pool. And obviously Snapcaster synergy.

I could use some advice on tightening up my U/W for standard, if you could spare a minute. I just started playing standard so I don't know quite as much about the meta, but I feel like I'm heading in the right direction.

Interesting list Ethan. I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to come back on to this site, though, and see a familiar name with a real deck! I've been a bit more bored with standard at the moment with rotation so soon and new deckbuilding seeming pointless so I've rarely been checking out the site and it's been dissapointing every time seeing a bunch of junk - not even worth trying to help with most of the time. This deck you've created looks pretty solid, though.

Questions for ya -
Have you tried some split with Sphinx and Titan? Sphinx is just soo good in some matchups where Titan is a little more lackluster, though I certainly understand using either.

I'm seeing your point on Visions of Beyond, but it still seems like plenty of matchups it will be fairly lackluster and I would maybe just try a split with something like Think Twice. They both have great benefits and Think Twice is often better after an Alchemy. Dismember is also a great spell and amazing with Snapcaster so I'd maybe reconsider a 2nd as they can always easily be boarded out when bad. I understand the issues with it, though.

One other question is the 3-2 split with Mana Leak and Negate. I feel like this format is shaping up to be pretty heavy aggro until things settle down and largely creature based. I feel like going 4-1 in favor of Mana Leak just seems better as a more general catch-all. I could be wrong here and your meta may be very different, but Mana Leak just seems too good over the situationalness of Negate.

One last thing - 3 Phantasmal Images? Why? They really don't have as much to copy anymore while quite good, 3 seems like a bit much. I could be wrong here obv. but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

The deck is really solid and obviously harder to really fine-tune until the metagame really shows itself a bit more in the next couple weeks. I think I'm going to try and brew up some Gx deck that fully takes advantage of all the fun/good new green spells we have now, as well as fully being able to utilize GSZ!:)
Glad to see this site getting back on track - Keep of the good work!

In all the years I've been playing(more than I care to admit) I don't think I've seen a deck quite this good at melding into a format and completely decimating it. My hat is off to you Ethan for a build that is "jaw-dropping" impressive.

Having said that; I'm now determined to find a way to disrupt this without the mirror match. I've never been a fan of blue or control. I've always hated playing against it for too many reasons. I enjoy the challenge of finding a way to beat what I consider to be the hardest deck(s). Those are control decks if you(the person reading this who may/may not be Ethan...)didn't follow what I meant.

You say you don't like POD for their ability to quickly jump out there and smash someone in the face but control decks are built to not like anyone doing anything they don't specifically want them to do. B-)

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=235021

^ is my POD deck. I haven't figured out a sideboard for control yet but I do have fun with most other types of decks. You, sir, have given me a great example for a deck to beat. I know the "other" kids in color pool can play with U/W control. I just haven't figured out how yet...

I realize im gonna get crucified for asking this, but with snapcaster mage, i see it as a really good card, but not stupidly broken card. Can someone please explain to me what makes it better than i see it as?

Since sorcery/instant cards only get flashback till the end of turn, and only get flashback when snapcaster enters the battlefield, this means that all sorcery/instant cards that you'd want to flashback cost 2 CMC (for the snapcaster mage cost) + the CMC of the card you want to flash back. If you dont flashback the card on the snapcaster comes in, you can no longer flashback the card later.

What am i missing here? To Flashback DOJ for example, is a 6 cost.

Seems like Snapcaster would pair really well with mimic vat, for a repeatable flashback ability...

Re-usability, no matter the cost (and honestly 2cmc more is cheap), drastically increases the options you have available at any given time. With any deck, but with control especially, options are the most powerful "x-factor" in the game. Just look at Cryptic Command! it's so damn good because it offers SO many options.

So that's why =]

0

Speaking of options, Snappy has so many. He can fit really well in a burn deck or GU ramp. If you have a certain combo card in your grave (because it got countered?), then Snappy can get it back in the game, for just two extra mana. Waiting for two land drops, or another turn, to win, is a wonderful thing.

In addition, the fact that the Mage provides a decent body for it's cost is quite relevant, too. A 2/1 with flash would already be a "decent" (not major constructed) card. Tacking on the rest is just insane bonus.

Love this deck. I have been playing with a UW ctrl for awile and it has been killing everyone playing it. That being said there is alot of black decks out there and i am sick of them (lol). You might want to try Sword OFAF. love the batterskull in there!!!! I hate to say i am stealing some of your ideas here for the new standard UW but you have a good deck going.

Haha, this was a good read. You'll have to forgive "us" newer builders because fads and bandwagons are what attract them.
I doubt snapcaster will be banned in standard because although it has incredible potential, it doesn't give the consistency that the previously banned cards had. I would have more to say, but I'm too lazy atm to write more.
Also, I think you should have a second dismember, or a 4th mana leak. I still think that removal is under rated right now, and its difficult to counter. If snapcaster is the shit now, then 3 more mana for it means they might not have enough to flashback.

I"m not Ethan, but I can explain Ghost Quarter for you me thinks; it is to wasteland what masturbation is to sex, in that if you can't have one you'll probably do the other.

Land destruction, even such as this, can seriously change the face of the game, and since this deck is using Sun Titan it's the rare moment in standard where you can use it recursively.
Perhaps it's not as powerful here as in Modern, Overextended, or Legacy, but it's still going to be very powerful in standard.

Okay, I am very new at deck building (started magic a year ago) so I don't know if it would really help but wouldn't a couple mimic vats instead of 4 mages (or maybe both) work better? Even though it does cost...

Also, would a mimic vat, snapcaster plus burning vengeance in a counter and burn deck would combo decently well? Or would the costs bee too high to be quick enough

Sorry, just trying to understand the workings of snapcaster

Quick Question, why use batterskull and not sword of feast and famine and/or sword of war and peace? With both casting 3, you could obtain them from the graveyard if needed via sun titan. Feast and Famine would help you win the attrition war against control via discard, as would War and Peace since hand sizes tend to swell. Both Feast/Famine and War/Peace cost less to equip and, Sword of X/Y gives your creature protection from two colors.

The benefits I see you getting from batterskull that you can't get in sword of X/Y, is really the germ token and the ability to bounce the equipment. The lifelink batterskull gives may be useful, but you get a pseudo lifelink with War/Peace. And, as I'm sure you know, Feast/Famine, lets you untap your mana base, so you can cast more spells/keep mana open for counter magic. It was one of the reasons caw-blade was so effective before the bannings.

0
Posted 03 October 2011 at 18:25

To make a second note, because I'm almost positive someone will try to correct me, caw balde was effective for a number of reasons, usually done in steps. First was the deck filtering that swaudron hawk and stoneforge mystic offered by merely playing them. Second, was ability to tap out to play and attack, and then because of the attack have mana open again for counter/control. Third was because JtMS, was really good at the control part after it hit the board, and he could dig through the deck for answers if needed. In the end, Caw-blade won the attrition war as it depleted your hand size, bounced your field, and almost always had mana open.

0
Posted 03 October 2011 at 18:30

well i chose bskull in this list because it uses day of judgment a lot. bskull lets me replay said creature, which makes doj a bit less harmful on my side. this is why i don't use swords, mainly, and because if I equip them to my images they die. they can't be targeted.

if you want to see my and my friend shawn's version of caw blade, check out my new deck "spectral blade"

0
Posted 03 October 2011 at 20:11

Got it, batterskull is more of it's own creature than anything else. and it can equip the occasional sun titan/snapcaster/spirit when the need is dire enough. And it gets around DoJ. Seems good to me.

Am I missing something or has nobody read the flashback rules.

"You may cast this card from your graveyard for its flashback cost. Then exile it."

When you cast a spell via flashback it is exiled after it resolves. Hence snappy doubles the use of spells (which is still good) but does not turn a 1 of into effectively a 4 of.

Is snappy is good, definantly. Is he overpowered, no.

Having said that the deck is great and I like it a lot. It has great synergy and can really lock people down. I especially like the addition of surgical extraction, it can destroy decks like pod if played well.

I am wonder how it would fair though vs. one of the may mono red becks out there atm. The are amazingly fast thanks to the qualty 1 drops out there atm like reckless waif and stromkirk noble and pack a nasty punch.

any how just my 2 cents, good job and good luck with future decks

I tend to agree with what the guys with 1400 posts have to say.

And what he was referring to was the fact that you essentially double the amount of any given sorcery or instant spell you have by adding snapcaster mage to your deck.

I don't have 2 gideon, 4 snapcaster, or 3 sun titans, so sadly this deck is slightly outta reach for me. BUT, the sun titan + phantasmal image combo I've been looking at for a long time, as well as others. The cool thing for me is seeing a deck that has so many 1x spells. :)

Right so it is obviously genius, just a tad difficult for us normal players to get to. Also Surewhynot if your reading this, have you made an innistrad Extractor deck yet? I'm dying to see what you've come up with.

In response to your description about the advice people give: I came to this site as a casual player looking for helpful advice. I've been to other sites as well. This one is the most active. But just about everywhere all I get for suggestions are the same things over and over without analyzing what I'm trying to accomplish and suggesting things to remove for the things to add. I've found like one helpful person and have been trying to help other people with their theme decks as thats my specialty. Is there anywhere where people can get decent advice online? I wish I had more to say other than to respond to your description. This deck is very good and its out of my league really. If I ever think of something to add to other decks you've made I'll do my best.
