Deck Description

This is the legal vintage version of my famous Elemental Pact deck. Still as deadly, but Tourn. legal.

How to Play

Turn one, NIVA Elem. Turn 2, Curse or Prey stalk with a direct damage to creature remove OR use it as part of Sac to Niva. Exile 2-3 spells for Niva and swing for 7-9 Damage on turn two. Turn 3 drop more creatures or use remove on their creatures and play prey. hit again. Last hit. Lets say they manage to get rid of your niva, you can burn to win or give delver with a fail a try. Thats 6 damage flying. Boom. Game over.

Deck discussion for Elemental Pact Power II

Can't say anything bad about this. I should have thought to put Nivmagus in my new Izzet deck.

Thank you! When I saw him at the local comic shop people treated him with disgust, Exile spells thats horrible they said...within a month he was in hte 0.75 cent Bin. I toke a close look at him and realized the powerhouse this card could be and yeah... 7-9 damage in anyones face on turn 2 is ... breathtaking. With proper creature control only creature removal can deal with him and if thats the case I have other cards or burn to finish the job.

Is it possible to attach Illusionist's Bracers on Nivmagus to have his ability trigger twice? *shudder* Getting four +1/+1 counters for each Instant/Sorcery.

10/1/2012: You exile an instant or sorcery spell you control from the stack, not an instant or sorcery card in any other zone.

You just CAN'T remove those spell from your hand, you need to CONTROL them... Your hand is not in play, the stack is....

Still, you can cast the pacts... for 0... but here is a funny thing...
you attack, I declare nothing, you cast pact of the titan, exile it to be proud of your +2/+2...
I cast swords to plowshares on nivmagus, removing the nivmagus effect from the stack, pact of the titan resolve... I win

Super risky cards... even with a lightning greaves/hexproof thing... If it is your only creature, watchout for diabolic edict

The odds of you holding more then 1 swords of plowshares in a game is so unlikely. every game I just about cast 2 pacts and one spell and exile them, I never said I exile them from my hand. Also just removing my first turn hammer does not earn you the game. I have many ways to still slaugter you.

You don't say you exile them from your hand.. but you say this : Exile 2-3 spells for Niva and swing for 7-9 Damage on turn two. So if you exile 3 spells on turn 2, you have to do it with a pact... the pact of negation can't be cast unless you can target your own spell which is possible, but in any case.... the odds I have any kind of "kill" cards is really high... swords is one of many, terror, terminate, diabolic edict, geth's edict, a simple lightning bolt will kill your guy before his + counters.... and then the pacts resolves and you lose because the second ability resolve at your upkeep, you can have any number of ways to slaughter me... 8 pacts, is 8 super heavy risks... say what you want

Super-Risk reminds me of the 20/2 Carnophage attack on turn 2.

Turn one: Drop Swamp, cast Carnophage
(Carnophage deals 1 damage to you to keep it untapped)
Turn two: Drop City of Traitors, pay B to play Dark Ritual, Pay 2(CoT) and BBB to cast Hatred. Pay 18 life to give Carnophage +18/+0 until end of turn. Swing for 20

To say the least, it'd be funny if it actually worked.
