Agreed, no need for RtB, Ive tried the Seer and RtB combo and it was too much life loss. You could do divination if card draw is an issue, although I doubt it will be as well.Vortex Elemental is definitely worth a test run, I have been annoyed by that card so many times.
Thats kind of what I was thinking. Another neat combo (specifically with Duskmantle) is adding Thassa to pre-screen your extra card draw.
Ahh, yeah I guess early game you might not have the UU. Then id can just the spell rupture for negate or syncopate. You probably will not have any powerful creatures out when you need to use spell rupture. Or you will have UU by then. So if it is an early game concern both the aforementioned counters are good for that.
Love the title.Id replace spell rupture and psychic strike for 4 dissolve though. Helping dig to your whip of erebos and seer's will be key.
Gave the deck a shot yesterday and it seemed fine for the most part. Although I did have to mulligan once or twice due to lands. So yeah, might have to up the count of the shock lands. Specifically, Watery Grave as blue and black are the dominant colours.
Ahh, didnt consider that Garruk places alot of stuff on the bottom. So yeah, I can definitely see that being an issue on a regular basis. That dude burns through aggro decks at a very alarming rate.
Hmm, I like most of the updates, but Id likely keep flesh & blood on SB instead of the gruul charms. It is such a great finisher.Otherwise, witchstalker is really destroying lately.
Hmm... Fact is that those creatures are both enchantments and creatures at the same time. So because Ruric states that you take 6 for non-creatures, you would be safe as they are in fact a creature (regardless of the fact that they are also enchantments)
MB looks pretty solid (still not sure about the guildmage, but hey IMO every deck gets one flavor card), seems like your SB is still in the refinement stage. My SB suggestions, go for 3 rootborns, 3 azorius charm, 2 dissolve. Can the simic charm and current counterspell roster, I dont see the simic charm being useful against much more than bile blight vs the rootborn. Whereas the rootborn does save from verdict overloaded mortars, etc. Azorius charms speaks for itself. Dissolve because 4 card slots on your SB isnt worth it for effectively 2 counterspells at any time; plus you do not have a mana issue so the 1UU should be easy enough to afford.
I guess with elixer + vitu + prophet the tokens could be viable as you can just rev for as much as you want then recycle your library. So that will allow you to have oodles of mana. Id agree with giving Kiora a try, but not aqueous form, youre just giving away card advantage then.
@coleander20 thats why theres one ruric MB and the others SB. If youre playing vs control or any midrange deck you can either hold off on playing noncreatures or suck up the 6 life. Put it this way, your opponent is either going to not play or take a lot more life than you.
Agreed, makes sense for sure. The guy is probably what makes GR Monsters able to make top 8s in the current meta. Otherwise control is too good
Nice, Id give all that a try and then refine when you find what works and what doesnt.
Liking the Renounce the guilds on the SB, I seem to have overlooked it myself.SB aside, cool looking deck, Id likely run more bestow. Kill spells are going to give your opponents a big card advantage the way that your deck is built now. Murder investigation is really the only aura you have currently that provides you with a benefit if your creature dies, all of the other ones just make your creatures a magnet for removal. So if you go for more bestow (which still works with your heroic) you can keep the deck theme and have a more robust deck.
Yes. Love demigod. Great to see a good deck wrapped around it too.
Youve got effectively 6 mountains with the sacred foundry, plus all your draw power. Could easily play with 2 chains. That said you could also do detention sphere if you were so inclined; but to me it seems like the deck is meant to have more "active" cards so that when you get to the elixer (love it) you can just repeat and get all the cards again.
Moo cow 4 life! I wouldnt be that worried about removal with a grand total of 4 creatures. I think that they will get the point that its a control deck.
Id consider adding one elixer of immortality so that you can really maximize usage of sphinx's rev. That way if something happens to aetherling you can just recycle the deck and go again. Other than that, cool deck idea, looks fun
Yes, I traded mine away recently and have not yet acquired a new playset of them. Given the deck is sitting at $11 now I think that may bring it nice and close to the titled $15. Figured someone might call me out on that ;)
