Note: i am a Tournament judge and lodge does not work that way it gives them vigilance basically yes but does not remove them from combat, they still give and receive combat damage as usual same goes with first strike.

if you don"t care about standard then vampires are much better with blue/black i ran U/B Vamps right up to before the set cycled and we lost Zendikar it beats R/B vamps easy and i never lost with it!
