Just so you are aware colorless is not a color so commander's sphere will produce no mana.

The non-basics will also allow for multiple landfall triggers on the same turn. Plated geopede will have the potential to hit +4/+4 or more due to the fetches.

It also probably wouldn't hurt to add a full set of signets or something similar. If you want tutors like mastermind's acquisition you may want to consider going to something similar to vampiric tutor instead.

Mana vault, mana crypt, grim monolith, chrome mox are all good ramp that you may want to put in. Paradox engine if you do want more ramp. Isochron scepter and dramatic reversal produce a bunch of mana as well.

Yes it would but I do not intend to use the up on my artifacts. Karn, the Great Creator's job is to down for mycosynth lattice. With lattice and karn out it makes all of the opponents permanents that are artifacts so they cannot do things like tap lands for mana. At that point I can just beat them down in any number of ways.

You may want to consider The First Sliver as your commander. It is coming in modern horizons and looks like it could fill the spot well.

O elves can be so brutal. That would have seemed invincible back then.

If I was actually going to try and tune the deck I doubt I would rely on fogs alone either. This is something that I threw together out of nostalgia because I knew someone who stomped me with something similar before I really knew how to play they game. Most of the reason I put it in public is in hopes someone sees it and gets a cool fun idea.

What do you think of crop rotation to get the crystal quarry easier?

I was just thinking that it makes a solid stall card between the hexproof and death touch. Etrata is good at keeping a board clear with the ability but is soft to hexproof on their side. So when I saw it I was thinking that the predator may be better at slowing the game down to get the jace and bolas off. If etrata is a win condition and a way to slow the game down it works well though.

Your right it is not I was thinking of predator not spectre.

Why did you include the four etrata in the deck? Just looking at it they don't seem to be doing a ton but I am sure you have a reason for being there. If did you consider something like nightveil spectre instead?

Mirror gallery is fun to play around with casually. One of my favorite ways to use it is in five color shrines because of how shrines stack. If you like mirror gallery check out shrines.

You could add siege-gang or something that would be a good pay off for landing with it.

I liked the idea of the deck so I went ahead and cloned it to tweak and see what it would end as. Here is the result if your interested.

That depends on what duals you have if any. Do you have any fetches or shocks? If not what fast lands, pain lands, or check lands? Do you have any tap lands/guildgates?

I think it looks pretty spicy so far. Only having the one of chandra and bolas is a bit of a shame but the tutors to go get them are a good fix for it. It looks like it will turn out to be a good time to play.

Unfortunately modern counter spells are just not as good as in other formats because of the speed. Logic knot is a pretty good one because of the delve allowing you to use it almost like OG counter spell and it exiles so it can take care of any snapcaster targets or recurring threats. If your meta runs a lot of two drops than you may want to look into spell snare. Its really good in the right spot but pretty situational luckily modern is fast enough that most decks run at least a couple to several two drops. Negate and dispel are solid options but they will normally come in from the sideboard. Essence scatter is a good option if you meta is incredibly creature based because it just gets rid of the creature but is dead in hand in the wrong match. You could look into mana leak as well I ran that a lot when looking for budget counter spells.
