1 4 pile isn't gonna change that much, I agree with what ur saying about protection and i own 4 and have tried it, it just didn't help with what i was trying to buildthis is my main tournament deck, and I haven't had a problem with it, counter is the only thing i worry about and there isn't much i can do about that

BotH and Mut are both free to cast, which speeds up the kill, vines cost G to hexproof then another G for 4/4... slowing down the kill by 1 or 2 turns

the mana ramp is to kill with, not get a bigger creature faster.

sure does, I cant recall not having enough mana to kill someone. 90% of the time I first turn a 2 cost creature unless I have the glistener elf in hand too. Then I will play the elf and rancor first turn.
What happens if they have a 1/1 chump blocker out... all that for nothing
