Deck Description

Imagine wandering through an ubiquitous icy world. Starvation, last efforts, desperate times, not having any energy to do anything. Welcome to the world of the Winter orb.

Your friends might dislike you, they might cry at night... But they will not freeze in this blasphemous world.

I imagine by reading all the cards in the deck list

Constantly tap their mana source so they can't play cards, not allowing them to untap, then forcing card draw, you'll slowly whittle them down with the Owl and the Iron Maiden. Propaganda preventing them from attacking without an extra cost is pretty nice as well. Nice deck!
@angryretard Always better to explain something then let someone remain unclear as to how something works. People taking the time to explain combos and patterns in the game lead to my better understanding of it as a whole.

Yes, but you need combo

It's not necessarily a combo piece, just a way to get damage through. There is a way to fetch out the artifacts you need for the win (Fabricate) but maybe another way would be more consistent? Honestly, if you can lock down your opponent's field, each of their turns aren't very productive, buying you much more time than you would normally have.
@tobybox How consistent does the deck play as it is? It seems super fun, but is Fabricate enough to pull the artifacts you need to activate your win condition, or does the way the deck plays buy you enough time to eventually tutor them out.

Thanks for the interest guys !
Howling mine and Remand help the card draw. Usually not much issue getting the cards I need.
While controlling board with Icy Manipulator, Vedalken, bounces, counters etc. You can also boomerang Winter Orb in your hand so you can untap all your lands, then play it again !

tapping winter orb before your turn works too. since if winter orb is tapped its effect doesnt work the same is true howling mine etc. its an old artifact rule. some versions of the cards even states it

Tapping Winter Orb before my turn works ? Wow, it only gets meaner and meaner.

You'd have to tap it at the end of their turn, iirc. But yes, that works.

Black Vise is legal in Legacy these days. It doesn't sound as heavy metal band as Iron Maiden, though.

black wise is made for when opponents have few or no cards in hand whereas Iron maiden is for when their hand overflows with cards if you have a way to stop the limited hand size it can deal so much damage.

No. You are thinking of Torture Wheel and/or the Rack.

Torture Wheel and Iron Maiden were Urza block reprints of The Rack and Black Vise, respectively.

Black Vise only targets one opponent, iron maiden and ebony owl is all opponents

I think if you'd include Spellbook and Legerdemain this deck would be worse.
They'd work well with Ebony Owl Netsuke and iron Maiden.

I really like spellbook... thanks for the ideas.
It's hard to put so many good cards in a deck

Doesn't have Stasis in the deck with. Not a true friendship ender.
Jk, I like prison decks. One of my favorite strategies in Magic is resource denial/lockout. +1 From yours truly.

Some cards that can punish them too are things like Ankh of Mishra, Tanglewire, Aether Barrier, Standstill, and Overburden. Some of my favorite cards. There's also Imprisoned in the Moon for things that you can't readily deal with.

I appreciate your interest !
I like the list of cards you wrote there. If only i could put them all in there. Gotta limit myself to key cards so it's really consistent. So far I had a lot success playing against all kind of different decks.

Yeah that's sick. I don't feel it really goes with this deck's atmosphere though, thanks for the idea.
appreciate it.
Tinker could be very good, I could sac a synod or something cheap to put in an icy manipulator or whatever I need depending on the game.

With Iron maiden and Ebony owl.
It goes pretty fast when they have 7 cards in their hand
