Oh don't get me wrong. I really like Woe-Reaper. I run a full set in one of my decks. And it is phenomenal against Delve Decks. It's saved my butt more than once. I'm just saying more often than not your graveyard is going to stay empty of creatures with Athreos. Because If i were playing this deck, the only thing i'd pay life to put into a graveyard is Brutal Hordechief and maybe a Strike Leader if i'm getting my butt whooped. The rest isn't worth it. But i agree with both of you. it is situational and it could go either way. I would just maybe side board a different 1 drop. In the end it's your deck. If you weren't running Athreos no questions asked keep a full set of them.

I like spear best for this deck, just for the fact that the only creature control he has is hero's downfall, and despise to an extent. I imagine he will be at times, willingly taking damage, activating spear. then gaining that life right back with Sorin or Woe-Reaper. I just don't know how effective Woe reaper will be in this deck With Athreos. I know you could mill down the opponents graveyard, but I'd consider swapping them out for Bloodsoaked Champion, but at the same time with Bloodsoaked, When it dies it's going right back to your hand.

No rush. I know you've been absent the last couple days. You have a life outside this I just wondered if it was next in line or close to it.

A lot of decks aren't exactly tailored to combat flying creatures. but with all three instants in this deck i'd say The deck is covered if flying becomes too big of an issue.

I honestly think Foundry Street Denizen would be a waste in the deck. Don't get me wrong. I love the card and run it in my goblin token deck, But in my opinion there aren't enough red creatures to benefit from the ability even with the addition of Swiftspear. I could see the addition of Swiftspear in place of Skirmisher. But I like Skirmisher. Reminds me of the old days when Suntail Hawk was in rotation. Also Dragon Mantle or Titan's strength on skirmisher could be a very big annoyance. But I do see your point. If anything I could see Swiftspear replacing Akroan Crusader. Which I will mull over and look at now.

Setessan Oathsworn would even be a better replacement for battlemaster

Why does everyone choose Phalanx Leader over Akroan Skyguard?!?!?!?!?!?

I like it, But truthfully I don't think it needs the mana ramp. you have enough threats out there to keep the board occupied. I would take out all 4 of them. add 2 Hardened scales and 2 Abzan Falconeer. If you don't want to do that I would at least swap Out Hopeful Eidolon for Abzan Battle Priest. Yes it's more expensive than the casting cost, but it's the same price as the bestow cost and EVERY creature with a counter gets lifelink. Personally I don't like Centaur Battlemaster so if you get rid of the mana ramp I'd get rid of him. If you keep the mana ramp, Keep him. When I give advice I try not to take away too much for how people want to build their decks. And last but not least I'll never understand why people chose Phalanx Leader over Akroan Skyguard. It's the same CMC only it's has flying which is obviously the better choice. Plus it's not a double white which is always better in a two color deck.

I feel like this deck is a good start. I'm assuming you are relying on Heliod and herald to just keep feeding tokens into the battlefield. but I would recommend nykthos to give you more mana

On a side note, If some of ya'll want to swing over and look at my Modern Deck i'm building. The stars of the deck are Brimaz, Sigil Captain, Hardened scales and Mikaeus. It may not be stellar to some people but It's the style of deck I like. I just want to know how to make it better. I know there are some iffy cards.

I was extremely skeptical when RandomDecks proposed this deck. But I'm surprised by how much this works. Truly shows how good NorthernWarlord is at making decks.

If it was one color i probably would. I just feel more comfortable with 10 of each. could be just me though.

All of the card you suggested minus Blood Soaked Champion would be a horrible addition to this deck. None of them are warriors and none of them add anything vital to the deck. "Splashing" any of the things you added would just change the dynamic of the deck. they are great cards in their own facet but just not here.

I agree with all your points minus epithany storm. the only thing I would consider discarding is a land after I have 4 or so on the board and I'm already only at 20. I did add dragon mantle like everyone suggested. which with defiant strike should help the draw a little. I could also add Monastery Swiftspear instead of Akroan Crusader as well. And I would drop titan's strength for 2 reason's. 1 it's crazy strong for a 1 drop. 2. scry is almost as good as a draw. if it's a land you don't need get it out of there.
