I like spear best for this deck, just for the fact that the only creature control he has is hero's downfall, and despise to an extent. I imagine he will be at times, willingly taking damage, activating spear. then gaining that life right back with Sorin or Woe-Reaper. I just don't know how effective Woe reaper will be in this deck With Athreos. I know you could mill down the opponents graveyard, but I'd consider swapping them out for Bloodsoaked Champion, but at the same time with Bloodsoaked, When it dies it's going right back to your hand.

I like the Woe reaper because it gives you options. If athreos is on the board, and they choose to pay the life, then you can exile from your own and gain a bit. Also being "a" Graveyard, if they have anything in there, you can use it. Its also extremely helpful against delve or self mill decks because you can cherry pick their big boys.

I really like Woe reaper, super strong card in weenie decks.

Oh don't get me wrong. I really like Woe-Reaper. I run a full set in one of my decks. And it is phenomenal against Delve Decks. It's saved my butt more than once. I'm just saying more often than not your graveyard is going to stay empty of creatures with Athreos. Because If i were playing this deck, the only thing i'd pay life to put into a graveyard is Brutal Hordechief and maybe a Strike Leader if i'm getting my butt whooped. The rest isn't worth it. But i agree with both of you. it is situational and it could go either way. I would just maybe side board a different 1 drop. In the end it's your deck. If you weren't running Athreos no questions asked keep a full set of them.

Honestly I hate Athreos, he had a lot of promise but just doesn't preform.
I brewed around him a lot and he is just sure akward.
If anything would be removed that would be the card I would pick.

I've never used him in a deck. At the absolute earliest he doesn't "activate" until turn 4. Assuming no creatures die. I just really like the concept of him.

The concept is good, the practice isn't.
You use him for resilence vs control, but he just does nothing once you get to the late game because they can normally deal with your threats.
I would just rather more speed than wasting my turn 3 on him.

Thank you both for all the input, it will be helpful in putting in touches. I just put it together this morning, so plenty time to adjust and sideboard. I appreciate all the comments.

No problem, it's really hard to get a deck built by yourself.
But take anything we say with a grain of salt because we don't know what your meta is like.

sb erase to run raiders' spoils in the main. rush of battle is nasty in a warrior deck you should look at it.
