I've done 8 playtests with this deck so far, and its 5-3. 4 games against my elf deck, losing 2 due to trash draws the whole game somehow. The next 4 I played against a golgari enchantment deck of my friends. I lost the first game to a 7/4 flier with lifelink and deathtouch, then won the next three.

Ironically enough I finished buying the cards for the deck today and they didn't have any skull clamps and a few other cards so the deck turned out slightly different then intended and one of the replacdements I picked up were 3 auralias fury. I'll update the deck list when I can get on from an actual computer, its only a few cards different but doing it from a tablet is a pain.

Lol ya SHE is.blaze commando is a good card, but a little too high cmc for the deck I think. My aim is to have the game near done by turn 5 if I can. I'm not sold on stormbreath as my insurance though. A 4/4 flying haste is nice, but how many cards does someone realistically have in there hand by turn 7-8 unless they're running blue?

Firemane avenger looks really nice but he himself is susceptible to burn lol. Do you mean blaze commando? I can't find boros commando.

lol this is old school for me. planar chaos and the like were shortly after i started playing. didn't care much for them. however, aeon chronicler might be a good fit for this deck. tcgplayer puts it at 45 cents, and it adds some of that draw power blue loves so much.

you seem pretty good, if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my new deck im making for FNM?

looks good. Im interested in trying a deck with kruphix and his prophetto just store mass mana during opponents turn then drop huge creatures during my own.

Definitely an Upvote for Firefly lol
"Planet's coming up a mite fast."
"That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all"
"When that happens, let me know."

you don't have any islands or forests in the deck so misty rainforest and verdant catacombs are pointless. you could take out the catacombs and just add in more swamps so you don't need a card to search for them. add in some islands instead of the misty rainforest because most of your lands come in tapped.

I havn't played this kind of deck, but I'm not quite sold on the mana base. 18/24 come into play tapped. if you don't draw into Prophet of Kruphix almost immediately, your playing a land behind. You could use Kiora's Follower, but then your a creature behind that could have attacked or blocked.

take out the primal vigor and put in the doubling season's and your deck is now modern.

needs more nacatl war-pride and a way to take extra combat phases. then you can watch your opponents cry into their pillows at night.

This seems like it would be rather slow to me. phenax is legendary so id stick with only 2 of him. planeswalkers are big targets and I don't see many ways to protect them here so id go with one or the other. my preference is with jace as he can hit hard right out of the gate with his +0 ability. in order for nighthowler to be effective you need to be milling more and doing it faster. lastly you also seem to have a weakness to flyers similar to my deck, which is why I added in call of the nightwing.

here is my recommendation:
-4 thassa's rebuff
-4 dakra mystic
-2 nighthowler
-2Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver
-2 tome scour
-1 phenax, god of deception

+4 breaking // entering
+4 Deathcult rogue
+2 call of the nightwing
+2 paranoid delusions
+2 wight of precinct six
+1 hero's downfall
+1 Psychic Strike

wight of precinct six is another big creature to use your phenax' tap ability with, call of the nightwing should help with fliers, deathcult rogue is unblockable except by rogues so he can get cipher hits in with paranoid delusions and CotN, and breaking // entering is a "glimpse the unthinkable" for 2$ instead of 25$

Im no pro, but imo I would take out a land or two and add in at least 2 more mana accelerator creatures, such as 2 more voyaging satyr. Mindsparker seems to be more of a side deck creature since it has no effect if your not vs'ing blue or white. Maybe replace it with another ogre battledriver to get those hydras hitting as soon as they hit the field. Kalonian Hydra is a bit more expensive at about 10$ per, but would fit in perfect, a 4/4 that doubles all counters (including itself) whenever it swings, with ogre battledriver out youll be swinging with an 8/8 as soon as it hits the field, and it would pump up mistcutter and heroe's bane in addition to itself

I agree. 1 return to nature and half the deck is gone. Even if you take out half the gods keeping the ones that share some colors and add in some supporting cast, it would make a HUGE difference.

for having half your creatures in the deck die at the end of your turn, this seems a little slow.... turn 6 is the fastest you could get off an assault strobe, swing, and fling on a ball lightning...

You could get this modern by replacing wirewood herald with an elvish harbinger and voice of the woods with drove of elves. this would probably put it slightly above the budget price you are trying for, though I feel if some of these cards were shuffled around it could be done. like for example, gilt-leaf ambush is two 1/1 elf warriors that can have death touch till end of turn (if you win a clash) and is only 16 cents on tcgplayer.
