White is really just the tertiary color here, only being used in the defensive cards and the cards that use all three. the earliest I potentially "need" a white source is turn three and that's only if I start with a Mardu Ascendancy in hand. I have 2 Rabblemasters in the deck because that's all I have atm, but also because I find Mogis's Marauder's trigger more effective. In this deck Rabblemaster is a card that you don't really want to keep drawing, but will end the game when comboed with the Marauder. Thanks for your thoughts on the deck!

The deck has now been updated to be post rotation with the release of khans, I will be using this deck in FNM to help get the cards I need to finish building my Mardu aggro deck.

Ya, he does have a little bit higher mana cost, but he is in there due to massive amount of artifact decks in modern like affinity and its branch offs.

that's funny, I got one of those from a structure deck way back and I didn't know it was worth anything. I wonder if I still have it lol. I could probably use one of those instead of a painland or something, thanks for the idea!

Really, the irony is doing an "aristocrat challenge" with R/W/B when before it was Mardu, R/W/B was commonly called Aristocrat itself due to Falkenrath Aristocrat being the main finisher in a R/W/B archetype. This amuses me.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I have 23 different decks on here around several different ideas, and only about 3 of them have even a single comment lol. At least on TO you can cycle one of your decks each day so it doesn't get buried into obscurity, but alas that's blocked here for some reason. anyway, my only real concern with this deck is the mana base. it seems a little too big for an agro deck and a little too painful with all the pinging to be consistant, but if I lower it, there's too big of a risk of not getting the needed colors. It's a hard balancing act.

Thanks for the comment! it looks like it will be a blast to play, and I foresee a lot of people dying to ride down and deflecting palm in many different decks. I would consider thoughtsieze, but I only have one of them, and this is going to get expensive as it its. maybe once I finish it I can look to get more. As for my Mono Black, I haven't given up on it, it's served me very well so far, and now I'm using it in the beginning to get packs towards finishing this deck. not including basic lands, I have 19/50 cards for this so far haha.

rancor is a really good card, but I don't think it fits in this deck. your creatures are 1/1's that turn into 3/1's that die to chump blockers. yes rancor goes back to your hand, but you don't really have the creatures to spare for a war of attrition like that. you could try distortion strike in its place to give a slight boost along with multiple turns of unblockable. That, with apostle's blessing and blighted agent in your deck, and almost every attack you make can't be defended against. Also imo, mutagenic growth should be mainboard. two buffs and a mutagenic growth = 2nd turn win. Another you could do to reduce monetary costs and maybe even life costs is switch the shocklands for painlands. they cost a lot less, and you might not even need to pay any life to play them.

If you want, you can check out my version of this archetype: http://www.mtgvault.com/jedc22/decks/unchecked-infection/

blighted agent is strictly better then plague stinger and blue over black allows access to distortion strike for multiple turns of unblockable attacks. tap lands will slow you down in a deck that tries to go as fast as this as well. I would go for llanowar wastes for your dual lands unless this is a budget deck, they are about 5-6$ each judging from tcgplayer.

here is my version of the deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/jedc22/decks/unchecked-infection/

To me, Wild defiance seems faster and more efficient then Hand of the Praetors in what this deck wants to do. Aqueous Form is good, but leaves you vulnerable to 2-1's. Distortion Strike costs the same and has the same effect with an added +1/0 (except its till end of turn of course) and has rebound, so you have an unblockable creature for two turns for 1 mana that also triggers wild defiance (both from your hand and on rebound)

a well timed strike while wild defiance is out and you could be swinging lethal by turn 4. switching up your pump spells a little can also allow you a turn 2 win scenario. something like might of old krosa, groundswell, and distortion strike, or groundswell, giant growth, and mutagenic growth. it's not a guarantee, but it's often enough that it can't be called luck either. and when it doesn't happen you can just win on turn 3 or 4 lol.

Took this deck to FNM on friday the 5th, and went 6-0 with it for 1st out of 38! Unfortunately no one told me that you can't use store credit to preorder a box when I traded my 9 packs back in for 27$ store credit so now I have about 60$ in credit that I cant use for prerelease or a box until the box comes out and the price rises 20$ =(

Here is a rundown of the decks I faced (that I can remember)

rd 1. mono black beats
The mirror is one of my worst matchups, invalidating my doom blades and mogis's marauders, which are key parts of my deck. not to mention nighthowler just grows into a house. he took game one trading things with deathtouch against my little guys then beat with a nighthowler while I was stuck with a doom blade in my hand for the entire game. I sided in dark betrayals for game two naturally and won that. In game three he had double nighthowlers and looked like he would have it, but I pulled it out through hero's downfall and flying for 2-1

rd 2.
I don't remember =S

rd 3. dragons
Standard big red dragons that get bigger, mixed in with circle of flame and rabblemaster. I took the first game fast, second game I sided in things like brain maggots to try to get threats out of his hand in the beginning and thought I would lose for sure when I saw 2 anger of the gods, rabblemaster, and circle of flames. somehow I pulled it of though and won 2-0

rd 4.
I don't remember =S

rd 5. mono white enchantments
This deck was interesting to play against. At first I thought it was heroic because I looked at one of his matches earlier and he had phalanx leader and fabled hero out. I won the first game quick, then I learned in the second what I was really playing against when he got ethereal armor and eidolon of countless battles on his fiendslayer paladin real early swinging for 7 with first strike/lifelink that I couldn't take out with any of my removal. The third game I got his life total to a manageable amount before he managed to do the same. unfortunately he wasn't enchanting fiendslayer, so I took it out and finished him in the air.

rd 6. mono green devotion
This deck should really have it's name changed to Devotion to Nissa using Nykthos, Shrine to Polukranos. He swarmed the board with mana dorksthen used devotion for mana, voyaging satyr to get more devotion mana then monstrosity on polukranos to blow the field and win with a big/big polukranos. my problem with this deck was 1. he had a lot of things to block my aggro with, givin the many many mana dorks, and 2. there was always something else I needed to kill before I could hit him, whether it be a polukranos, or nissa, or garruk. I lost the first game to a prime example of how his deck works, then won the second game by going through all 4 of my mogis's marauders. It all came down to the third game with 4 minutes left of the round, I won it through sheer speed, beating him down before he could get more then a few mana dorks on the board.

cloudfin raptor was essentially an early game drop to help get out an illusory angel hopefully, but I had been hesitant of it being a bad late game draw. I had chief engineer in there at one time (seeing as I have two of the promo versions from my stores game days, lol) but I ended up removing him because my previous tweak of this deck didn't have as many creatures. Now it solves two things in one to switch the two cards again. I was thinking about keranos, but with no devotion, no god can wake up in this dek, and 5cmc seems like a lot to draw a card...

Been on break with no computer access for the last few weeks which is why I havn't updated. I went to an FNM with the unfinished version of this deck without two out of three thoughtseize, obzedat, deicide, and the second brimaz. I went 2-3 even with it unfinished and would have gone at least 3-2 if i had had even just deicide out of that list, as one of the rounds I lost was because of mogis and my misunderstanding of the rules around gods leading to bad sideboarding . I sided in extra duress thinking mogis wouldn't be a creature in his hand when he doesn't have the devotion, but apparently it just has to have the creature typing to be unable to be targeted by duress. One of the others I lost was just a bad matchup, selesnya aggro, using fast drops and things like voice and advent to create more pressure. The deck has always had trouble against the fast matchup. On a positive note every round I lost I went at least 1-2 instead of 0-2.

yup i was just thinking yesterday about replacing the devour flesh with the banishing lights. devour flesh was really good in mono black devotion to get rid of hexproof and indestructable, and even better in MBD-spalsh white with athreos to sac your own gray merchant gain 4 life and play him again (if they dont pay 3, which they will, lol) but in true Orzhov, i don't think it has as much of a place.

ya, they're legel till september 26th when Khans comes out. i know it owuld help the deck, but i just cant justify that much money on something i wont use for very long. i dont play modern tournamnets just casual modern around campus so thats another reason im iffy on them. @DHamlin, thinking about it, i agree with you on the doomblades, they're good on everything but the mirror/junk but when you do play those guys (which are pretty popular) you end up with several dead draws, whereas ultimate price would still get some value no matter what deck you play against. as for unknown shores, thats seems alright, but id take out either 2 swamps or 2 plains for those, not the guildgates.

I would get the shocklands, but i dont want to spend 54$ right before they cycle. Even Obzedat im not buying for that reason, I'm borrowing them from a friend. I have some dark betrayal and Ultimate price for my sideboard along with some Drown in Sorrow, but i definitely do still need Deicide to help with enchantments since i won't have my banishing lights anymore.
