Speaking of free advertising, building a Spreading Algae/Copy Enchantment deck...with stuff like Reef Shaman to turn their lands into swamps, and stuff like Dream's Grip to tap their lands. Thinking Dingus Egg and Invisible Stalker will be the win cards.

Will send a link when it is done. Need tons of help on it.

I think the same thing...something like Gitaxian Probe is the same thing. I guess people like the extra choice of being able to play a swampwalk creature.

Guess I never play against anyone that has life gaining cards. But yeah...it is a decent card.

Good luck.

Feel free to look through some of my decks and suggest cards.

When people mention "Storm Crow" it is as a gag.

Raka. Golgari. And the such. I know very little of the story. I followed the Urza Saga and Weatherlight stories, and i am assuming the Rakas and the Golgaris are just new versions of the old stories/planewalkers/planes.

I can't complain much about the new players, or people confused with cards (as i am often confused myself)...because I like to try to help new players as well as get advice to make my decks better.

However, i do agree with you that a lot of the top decks should not be top decks. I have stated as much in some people's hot decks. I got hated on for suggesting it, though. lol

My friend introduced this site to me...and 2 months later he would no longer come to this website. And that was his advice. That a lot of crappy decks got a lot of attention. And most solid decks got very little attention.

Seems to be sad but true.

And to Panik8. I don't think it was your fault, man! I mean, you read the card right. Magic the Gathering should of put "You must pay both X life and {X}{B}" on the card.

I guess Magic the Gathering thinks we are all magical and just know unspoken rules.

Not faulting you at all.

High tide, huh? Consider Palinchron. It is an infinite mana loop. Then Stroke of Genius them for all their cards.

Fun stuff.

4/15/2013 You must pay both X life and {X}{B}. For example, if you want each other player to lose 2 life when Bond of Agony resolves, you must pay {2}{B} and 2 life.

I am a party pooper.

Does not work, Panik8
You would need 19 mana for Bond of Agony.

And with that said...simple, easy to understand decks. Decks that have obvious weaknesses. Decks that are copies of other decks...THOSE DECKS are easy to suggest cards and give advice to. And thus are easy to like (if people make the changes you recommend) versus well built decks, made by people, that intimidate you to like/give advice to.

Again, look at some of my deck descriptions. I agree.

But I will say this iNf3ctedRa1N (as with Puschkin, another person on this site)...I can see (not agree, but see) where it intimidates other players.

I mean...if you spent weeks designing your deck and spent hours writing out descriptions to your deck and why you choose the cards you did...

IT DOES MAKE IT difficult for people to want to suggest cards for you.

I think they look at it like this, "Damn, this guy really knows his stuff and wrote so much! So, he has probably already considered the cards I was going to suggest to him. Not much I can do to help him. He has it figured out. I will just look dumb even offering advice."

In other words...you turn people off by being so through. True but sad.

"Sorry if the How to Play section is too long, but it should be THAT long with every decks!"

Thank you for that. You won't have any hot decks, as you mentioned above, for a long How to Play Section. People will start to read it, their heads will begin to hurt, and they will go off to like simple/more basic decks on this site.

So, it has my vote. Check out a few of my decks, if you get the time.

The Vortex card looks like more of a sideboard for people who have life gain.

The Waste Not card looks cool.
Too slow for pure discard, but definitely a fun looking card.

Capsize is also very nice, in that sort of fashion. The ability/buyback of the card can be game changing as well as a lockdown of the opponent's board.

But thanks to the above advice, I have a deck in mind now. One expensive deck using Urborg, tomb of Yawgmoth and Rishadan Port. With Spreading Algae and Copy Enchantment. And another one, semi budget taking out the Urborg and Port cards.

My solutions are Twiddle and Dream's Grip...
Opposition and stuff like Memnite and Ornithopter...maybe. Or Opposition, with hex creatures like the Stalker.
Mind Games with it's buyback could be a lockdown card.

Thanks for the info on the rules. :)

May try something like Dingus Egg for the win condition. Maybe use that Invisible Stalker as an alternate win condition.

"Change the text of target permanent by replacing all instances of one color word with another or one basic land type with another."

So, if it says that quote up above. Like Mind Bend and Trait Doctoring. Those cards would work, right? Since they change land type.

But cards like Sleight of Mind and Glamerdye "Change the text of target spell or permanent by replacing all instances of one color word with another" do not work, right?

Another question, before I try to build the deck:

Spreading Algae reads like this:

When enchanted land becomes tapped, destroy it.
When Spreading Algae is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, return Spreading Algae to its owner's hand.

So...do I have to put Spreading Algae on a land AND THEN IT BECOMES tapped to destroy it? Or can I put a Spreading Algae on a land THAT IS ALREADY TAPPED, and instantly destroy it?
