So close! Steel Overseer isn't standard anymore. i'd use Mikaeus over Steel overseer. also the sunchaser isn't that good either. Maybe Vault skirge instead? Porcelain Legionaire is pretty good too.

I'm smellin what you're stepping in, but i definitely want the splash. it seems like a sacrifice to drop a mystic turn 2 instead of a kicked GK turn 3 or Phyrexian Obliterator turn 4, but it hasn't been at all! turn 2 mystic, drop a sword, turn 3 put it into play (counter free) and bring out a Vault skirge, turn 4 i've got a 3/3 flying, lifelink, prot w/e.. then when turn 5 hits if i drop a batterskull and only think i have to look out for is a Doj. which a duress can get rid of. i think this set up gives me options, i'll need to keep play testing it against certain match ups but it's fun and pretty good.
Okay, i did some playtesting, i've decided to take out the Praetor for a Batterskull. since i'm running only 3 stoneforge mystics it's been hard to get on the field due to the counterspells and creature kill but once i did get it out it made a huge difference! My buddy pilots a Caw-Blade and i beat him 2 different matches.(i'm proxying the newer cards until i get them) As far as the Praetor, i got her out twice in 5 games, not bad imo. but I agree that her helpfulness is lacking. the second time i got her out i didn't even do anything with her, total waste of mana. Also added some Tectonic edges and threw the surgical extraction to the SB. Added 2 despise, they've been helpful but not as amazing as i need but i'll keep them. any other suggestions? i'm feeling pretty good about the set up so far and is working really well! i'll have to wait for NP to come out and bring this ti FNM and see how it goes.
Okay made some more changes, took out the Grasp of Darkness and go for the throat for 4 solemn offering and duress in the SB. i switched Inquisition in for duress. What's everyone's opinion on Surgical extraction? that looks good enough to be mainboard
I named it General Grievious just because Chancellor of the Dross looks like him. got nothing to do with the deck.
if i were to run Batterskull what do you think i should take out? i'm trying to make the deck as strong as possible but don't want "fluff" if that makes sense. i like batterskull alot but idk what to take out.
I thought about running batterskull but it's a bit more expensive than i would like to play with as far as equipping and what-not. i agree it would wreck someone's face, The Mimic Vat isn't aggressive enough. it's just not amazingly helpful in Standard right now. it's nice with Skinrender but thats kind of it.
okay took out the evil presence and the sheoldred. i may switch sheoldred in for chancellor..i need to keep play testing it
it's for sheoldred. it's an easy slow down with lasting effect. i do see it being pointless though. also thinking about taking out chancellor of the dross. flying lifelink is nice but not for 7. i'll make some changes. thanks!
i agree. also something you may want to look into is tumble magnet, with Venser is pretty annoying! you could easily make this tournament legal if you're willing to redo the lands and take out the sissy swords!
OK made a few changes: I took out the Grasps of darkness, and added another sword, an Inquisition of Kozilek, a Phyrexian Obliterator, and a Stoneforge mystic. I want 4 Phyrexian Obliterators but i'm not sure if i need them. What do you think? I think they're my new favorite card! It's basically the T-Rex(T-WREX of decks) of the deck! when i drop that pretty much have field advantage! then i use sheoldred to bring it back(if it ever dies)
well thats actually the point of the sword(s) if he goes unblocked I get the full effect of the swords. Obviously trample plays a big role in his dmg dealing but unblocked makes him a BIG threat!
i've tried to keep it as straightforward as posssible. I Usually save Doom Blades for Gideon, use Disfigures on hawks or SF Mystic. i can always sideboard in the other swords but i don't want to need a "creature kill" and not have one. kinda the Condom theory... lol
Why you no use 4 Jace, The Mind Sculptor?!?1?!?!?!11?! Blue Jesus MUST be in EVERY blue deck or it's not a real deck. Jace is difference between a blue deck and a bunch of blue cards thrown together by some lands! FIX IT!
