Deck Description

A legacy Pox deck I plan on playing in the upcoming GP. Any suggestions would be great.

How to Play

The goal of this deck is to strip your opponent of the hand, creatures, and mana. Once the top deck war ensues use you top to filter the top of your deck, use cursed scroll to either kill off pesky creatures or just shoot straight to their face. Because there's not many first turn plays for pox, dark ritual is a must. T1 swamp, dark rit into a liliana or dark rit into inquisition then a Hymn, then sit back and watch as your opponent loses all hope for winning. lol.

Deck discussion for Pox of the Veil

May I suggest Bloodghast for its recurring goodness?

I've played Bloodghast in a past build of this deck but he was hit or miss, sometimes he was awesome but most of the time I just got overrun due to his inability to block. I find that Nether Spirit, in most cases, is superior to BloodGhast. Tombstalker is just so OP, he is one of the stars of this deck.

Fair enough :) It all comes down to testing.

you seem to have a lot of discard here, have you tried using liliana's caress? also, what about cabal coffers? im not sure if it's legal in legacy, but it sure as hell lets you play stuff faster.

I've thought about playing caress, but it's a really conditional card, other than that its an awesome card for discard based decks. I've also looked into the coffers, i might need to invest in a few cards now that I think about it. lol. thanks for the suggestions.

Nice deck, but I dont know how u can be overrun by creatures while playing a Pox deck! In mine i'm using Bloodghast and Crucible of World! The synergy of those cards in a pox deck is just awesome! U can take a look at my land destruction deck and maybe get some new ideas!

Playing against goblins and elves are a pain, they swarm quick, especially if they're playing Aether Vial. I do like the synergy of BG and crucible though. not sure if I could fit them in this build though.

Hi. I just wanted to ask about your experience with Tombstalkers. I am curently testing them in my Pox list and so far wasn't really succesful with it. Often they get stuck in my hand with no mana / graveyard to play it or they get in the way when I need to smallpox / innocent blood the field.

It was brutal as a win-more card though. Drawing it after taking control of the field, he was a great finisher, but it happens rarely for me. Maybe I just went overboard with the ammount of finishers in my deck though.

I had the same issues as you. I found that even though he seems like a good finisher, he rarely if ever happened to actually end games. Because of that I did eventually end up cutting him in favor of more board control. Believe it or not but Cursed scroll is actually "the finisher".

I am really thinking about trying it out as well.
Even though it may not seem like much on the paper, it is very universal and I haven't seen a bad word against it. Tombstalker on the other hand, looks like a bomb on paper, but real play is not that good.

Another card you may want to look at adding (when if comes out that is) is Waste Not. Should be out in M15. Such a useful card to have in a dedicated discard deck.
