Deck Description

Nasty, Stinking Goblins, and lots of them. I have to give credit to a buddy of mine Daenan Kirk for creating this deck several years ago. His version is bit more focused on the fun of Goblins running some of the unglued/unhinged cards. I always loved playing against the deck and thought that with a few key cards it could actually be very competitive.

How to Play

The main combo is to use Krenko to create a sh*t ton of Goblins and then use Stromgald to pump them with his Coat of Arms like ability. Goblin King and the Cheiftan are there to make your tokens 3/3's, potentially bigger if Gauntlet or Coat of Arms are out.

Deck discussion for In the Hall of the Goblin King

* You are lacking a few early gobos! I would cut some of the many cards that are only good when you have goblins in play in favor of some actual goblins ... here are some oldschool ones that might fit:
- Goblin Tinkerer / Goblin Vandal : Adds some utility!
- Goblin Chirurgeon : Protects your Kings!
- Goblin Piledriver : Instead of Marton!
- Goblin Recruiter: Sets up the next turns!

* What's Molten Influence for? If it's a critical spell the opponent will just pay the life. If it's blue spells (countermagic) you are afraid of, use Burnout instead. If it's burn spells or removal, try Wild Ricochet. If it's anything else ... well, do something else with this slot!

* Are you aware of the limitations of Kiki-Jiki? He can neither copy Marton nor Krenko which are probably the most juicy targets! Just saying.

* Is Pyrretic Ritual worth wasting a card slot for?

BTW, I answered your post in the Vintage forum:

Hey Pushkin! Thanks for the thoughts on this. I have made some of these mods already but need to update the deckist. I've been running recruiter a while in there and I just took Martan out a little while ago. I agree that it is pretty rare that molten influence gets to counter anything, it was just fun to see a red counterspell. kikki can copy Krenko, but at a price, you have to destroy one of them. You can tap Krenko, use the ability, copy him and kill the original but still use the token copy since it has haste so it gives you a two for 1 single use. I have done it when I had to make an all or nothing swing . I have added a couple other fun ones- I tossed in a couple beta Goblin Balloon Brigades. My playgroup doesnt use oricle text- we play the card as it is written. The old balloon brigades just say "Goblins gain flying" so I can give it to all of them!

Well, then you cheated ;) Oracle or not, Kiki-Jiki's card text explicitly says "target NON-LEGENDARY creature" ...

Oh and I also replied here:

You probably don't get notifications about it because it's in the forums, which is why I am telling you this way.

Right you are, I was thinking the legend rule would allow me to choose to kill one but you are correct, his text does limit him.
