Deck Description

This deck is built around the card Bloodchief Ascension. The original strategy was to get 2 points of early damage - enough to activate the enchantment. Once Bloodchief Ascension is on line, the next thing to do is discard your opponents hand. Putting the cards in the graveyard will cause the damage and life gain that you will exploit to win the game.

How to Play

Exploit Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank, and this 2-card combo will win you the game. Staggershock is a good turn 3 play - in order to activate the enchantment and thus making the deck work as it was designed.
Basically, "Blast & Torment the Bloodchief" is an early burn deck and a late game discard deck. Good-luck!

Deck discussion for Blast & Torment the Bloodchief

I like this build.
I know someone in here who is involved in tournament play as well.
He goes by the username supermegapanda

When that is said, I sadly also got some wall of text for you.

Welcome to mtgvault newcomer
(Or if you are an oldie, welcome back from dormancy)

Sorry to disturb, but at the behalf of the community I'd like to warn you that we have been suffering some troll attacks recently.

The troll revives older accounts and use them to like his own decks, and copies decks from here and other sites, and each time one of us posts something that gets a few upvotes he posts these copies, upvotes them and we all slide into the background

Because of this, all new and older accounts that suddenly come alive are viewed with some suspicions.

I'm warning and archivating all of these accounts.

If you want to help the community there is one thing you should know.
Mtgvault has a tag system that helps you search for a tag, using tags will make you easier 5o find longterm. Some of the new people feel ignored and starts copying their own pages which only helps the troll.

Engage in the community, but be aware that if you get no answers you might have tried to chat up the troll. To be seen by the community your best bet is to start by talking in a deck with many comments. Or even start talking on your own pages. The more comments the more people will see that you ain't the troll.

The troll is also lazy and has no time to write details about his decks, so the more you describe your own deck, the better.

I think I can state from us all that we hope you can somehow add more to the community than a raging troll.

Feel free to jump right into any ongoing conversation or "help needed" page that tickles your inner commentator ;)

I'm wickeddarkman, and though I am behind some initiatives against trolls, there are others who use the tag anti-troll to generate awareness of the troll attacks.

I've collected a number of recent troll behaviours, and if you are somewhat curious about those, search for the decktag: wdm trolls
Then click on the deck named: the tools of our trolls.

This greeting is a template that I copy from one of my personal template pages.
Anyone who wants to greet newcomers or old reawakened users should feel free to create their own version.

Before you greet, make sure that the person is new/reawakened by clicking on their username and study what years the person last were active. Read the newest decks to make sure others haven't welcomed them already ;)

EVERYONE ELSE:
I've been keeping track of my battle against the troll.
Last week my only strategy was to post decks that linked to my anti-troll campaign. At that point the troll just plastered new decks onto the site, burying my message. This meant that the number of decks posted doubled in numbers, and we had 8 pages floating with decks.

Since then I've countered this by contacting everyone who posts with a common warning. This serves three purposes, first everyone become aware of the troll, second, every time the troll revives an old account to try burying my message he actually manages to cause more awareness. Third, he will be burning through his accounts at high speed, and since I'm keeping track of everyone at the moment I will have a list of flagged accounts to refer to if he ever tries to go back to his outdated measures.

I hope everyone will be patient while this happens, but you shouldn't hold back on yourselves, start up chatting with each other. If the person is unresponsive, move on to the next. Use tags, look at decks and find out what you share in common.

A few of the olden members in here recently called me dedicated to this cause, and I am. This is not the only related project for me. I'm also working on personal projects (my prison series that will one day be merged by evolution) and personal problems.

I'm working on how to restore a stronger community once I've tirred out the troll.

Remember that I'm currently more or less alone in this, so I have to be extremely thorough.

So far I'm tracking about 60 users, and when all is said and done, I'm actually just warming up.

If the community wants it I'll post a list of users that are engaging in the community.
Knowing who wants to build up connections will help strengthening this place.

Wickeddarkman out...

I am not the troll, but I have copied a few decks without giving these decks makers their just rewards. I think that in a little while I will go back and flesh out my decks with more words to describe them and show people how they work. I use this site as a way of looking at decks that I would build in the future for tournament play and for fun at home. Please excuse me as a I slowly work my way around the community. I am in no way purposefully trying to hurt anyone or cause any problems.

Thank you for your response.
I'm currently not looking at much stuff because it's weekend, so I haven't gotten my notebook
With me, but you've been "targeted" by me more out of routine than actual accusations ;)

It's great to hear that you'll improve on these points, as I've always been much of a selfimprover on some areas ;)

I'm tracking at least 60 different people, so odds that you ARE the troll is a 1 in 60, which is pretty low, and I'm very much into being thorough, so I won't accuse you or anyone else without a solid basis.

Anyways this whole message thing is more to cause awareness of the troll more than anything else.

I have a list of flagged accounts, but I don't remember you as being on it ;)

I even wrote how I liked your build before I copypasted my message below it, and liked the deck, so I don't think I've flagged you :)

I would like to tell you again - That I am not the Troll. I did get the best three cards in the deck off another player.
1. Bloodchief Ascension x4
2. Mindcrank x4
3. Staggershock x4
The deck was... https://www.mtgvault.com/s0rinmark0v/decks/bloodchiefs-mind-torture/
So, I would like to say thankyou to s0rinmark0v for those 3 cards. But in all honesty the rest is an original build.
Please, take your time figuring this out. I'm sure the whole MTGVault community applauds your efforts in this trying time.
I'm just a little daunted because this is one of my favorite decks that I have ever made.

Well, user alfred, below, does not applaud me too much.
It's a standard letter that you got, no need for the worries.
I can see now that I put you on the chatlist for people to chat with.
