Deck Description

My take on Riku 3.0. The two first versions I made of this deck were more creature based, one even had a Birthing Pod.
I really liked playing with those decks, but they were slow and often didn't get to do what I wanted to do. Due to no draw, too many counters from oppositions and not enough board control.

The deck is very well tuned, I have a 12-0 record during testing. The only type deck I haven't tested against yet is heavy aggro, like very well tuned Animar decks or similar.

How to Play

Pretty much just get out Riku, like any other Riku deck, and start copying whatever you have in your hand.

Whether it's casting 8 Eternal Dominions and slowly beating your opponent with his own combos, or if you want to copy a creature 40 times, put your opponent in a Mindslaver lock, infinite turns, make him take 400 dmg from Guttersnipe (Which you'll ofcourse have a least ten of, due to the lovely copy effects).

There is plenty of different ways of winning and essentially make your life a lot of fun.

The only bad thing to say about this deck is that every will, most definitely, hate you. You will probably not be allowed in your local playgroup anymore...

Deck discussion for Riku, the bloody bastard

its a long time, when my riku edh was rebuilded to animar edh, but i have some nice memories with it :) how to kill twoo oponents with 75 inferno titans in one turn... :)

wont you try Rings of Brighthearth and Strionic Resonator? some good creatures will help too. for example: consecrated sphinx, vencer...

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

Yea, I had Inferno TItan in the deck previously, it was a lot of fun to kill people with a big pile of Inferno Titans.
The only reason I removed it from the deck was that I felt like a change to the deck would be nice. In 9 out of 10 cases, I'd win using Inferno Titan.

I'll take a look at Rings of Brighthearth and Strionic Resonator. I've considered them before, but I've never been able to find room for them.

I've cut down the number of creatures in the deck, to streamline the deck as much as possible. Got any specific creatures you'd recommend?

you can check there if you wish, but this deck is builded just to have fun and f*ck your opponent brains with 924812654 effects/abilities/spells on stack :D

and i recommend maelstrom wanderer and mindclaw shaman

I'm a little confused at the moment, I found this Information under Riku in the knowledgebase (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=236469):
"Each time the first ability triggers, you can pay {U}{R} only one time to get one copy of the spell. Each time the second ability triggers, you can pay {G}{U} only one time to get one token. "
So from my understanding it wouldn't be possible to copy one spell or creature more than one time.

Greetings
Muktol

you can copy one spell and one creature only one time with riku, but there is a lot of posibilities to copy that abillity, or to double tokens.

OK, so I understood it right and didn't play my own Riku deck wrong the whole time.
Thanks :)

yeah...its sad, that you cant pay aditional 10 mna to 5x copy your time stretch. but i did it once (time stretch was not from my hand :D ). riku is very funny deck, but you must stabilize mana very precisly. and always have lot of mana :D

yesterday game with my crazy riku ended with 27 lands on the battlefield and during my 4th turn created with timestretch(copied and copied) i ended life of my opponents, still 2 turns more to go :) that was crazy sh*t, and that game takes 2,5hours to play.

As WhiteGekon says, there's a lot of things that add to the number of copies, either on the form of regular copy spells or doubling tokens.

I've added a few spells to copy spells, which can be copied be Riku as well. The best thing about that is that fx. with Rite of Replication, you can kick the copies too. I've played Rite and Twincast, copied both and kicked all 4 copies. Which gives me 20 tokens. If I had a Doubling Season in play fx, I would have a potential of 40 copies of of creature.

The deck is very mana hungry, but a lot of fun to play. I find new win cons in almost every game I play.
