25 is a pretty reasonable number for a control list. I've got a decent amount of draw in here, and I don't want to ever miss a land drop: more mana means more shenanigans and quicker angels. I might cut the land base down by one or two after a little playtesting though.

As for the angels, I'm pretty confident with 4. They're never a dead draw: worst case scenario, I have a big flyer. Best case scenario, I have a big flyer and my opponents have nothing. But critters die, and my opponents will make more critters, so more angels never hurts. Again though, I might cut it down a little.

Ghostly Prison and Propaganda are nice, but both cost $3-4 each and they don't really work synergistically with the rest of the deck. You're right though, they would be a lot better for deterring attackers. I might try Windborn Muse as a more budget-friendly option.

Right?? Again, slightly out of my pitiful budget but maybe doable. Any recommendations on what to take out? Feeling of Dread is solid but I really like that nice little cantrip on Repel the Darkness.

Both are cool options, but I decided to keep it mostly instant-based. Just personal preference. The Guildmage is definitely less efficient, but her counter ability is really cool and the tap ability doesn't require her to tap. Which is pretty cool.

Me gusta. I'm skeptical for the same reason I'm not running Sleep, but I'll definitely try it out! Good suggestion.

I like Sleep a lot, and it was in the list for a while... but I prefer doing my shenanigans at instant speed and then dropping the angel. If I cast sleep, my opponents also have an entire turn to deal with me, and they're way more likely to have mana open for counters or removal. I also love Training Grounds, but it really only works with the Guildmage. Another deck, maybe!

Because I can totally afford a playset of those when I can't buy Gideon...

I realize shocklands aren't exactly budget-friendly; I just happen to have those Fountains lying around.

If my budget wasn't so sad he absolutely would be.

I would highly recommend Hyena Umbra. I saw you had it in earlier, and it would really help your Heroic dudes stay alive in the face of burn and black removal.

Right on, right on. I've only really run my heroic deck against Sean's casual monored, so it's no surprise that he was able to burn out pretty much all of my creatures.

I would pick three or four of your favorite auras, and just run those. Also, if you're not too hellbent on monowhite G/W is a great option for enchantments. Things like Abundant Growth and Fertile Ground fix your mana, give you enchantments for Sigil/Ajani's Chosen/Ethereal Armor, and often ramp up your mana as well. Also, if you're in Green you can run Aura Gnarlid and Unflinching Courage/Armadillo Cloak. :D

If you wanna stay in White, Gift of Orzhova is a hugely underrated card.

How has Heroic worked out for you? I made a U/W Heroic deck and it's not doing so hot. :/ It's a really cool mechanic though, and definitely a solid choice in a deck like this. The deck I made is on my page if you wanna check it out and offer some guidance!

Ahh, that's a good point. Definitely needs playtesting.

If nothing else, I have Forbidden Alchemy. It's such a champ in this deck, digging deep and dumping Retrievers into the graveyard... after all, I only need one actually in my hand.

Thanks! Yeah, I was kinda torn between tutors and card draw... the Infiltrator isn't ideal, but it does get everything except the Occultist. I might try See Beyond because it comes down earlier and moves through the deck faster.

Overgrown Battlement isn't meant to be a huge mana generator; the one it makes on its own is plenty for my purposes. However, it does evolve every creature in the deck, which is pretty cool. :) Thanks for the tip, though! Simic Elves might have to be my next deck.

Standard Naya is totally a thing, but it's really just the colors... it doesn't really have any of the same cards. :/

Also, with the crazy landbases you have to work with Standard is more expensive than usual.
