Here we go, the latest edition of my mono black deck, only this time it's actually legal in formats that aren't vintage! Necropotence, Demonic Consultation, and Yawgmoth's Will have served me well, but I guess it was time for them to go... I never should have taken the Hymns out of this deck, so they are now right back in. As I realized with the Inquisitions, hand disruption is something that decks like this one need. A lot. I also realized that the Dakmor Salvages were really unnecessary without the Bloodghasts around, so I replaced them with the Cabal Pits. Other than that, it plays pretty much the same. Big 3-drop creatures are still the major win condition, since Dark Ritual makes them immediately playable and O-Naginata makes them deadly.
The sideboard cards are obviously not to be used against every deck. Phyrexian Negators are never to be used against red/burn decks, and the Flesh Reavers tend to do poorly against creature-heavy decks. However, these two are preferable to the Phyrexian War Beasts and Nim Abominations they would replace in many cases.
