They're good cards, but imo they really benefit from a heavily graveyard based deck, like this one I made long ago, I've seen u commenting on before http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=364213

Gutter grime maybe, but since tokens are the main creatures, they don't work too well together in the long run, since without ramp Gutter Grime's a turn 5 drop.

I guess I'll survive :) ..it makes complete sense yes with the auras/instant growths, i'm disappointed I didn't figure it out myself, big thanks tho for putting the facts on the table! Cheers bud!

I'd still wanna create a deck around populating, having the majority of this cards at hand. The hard part exists now in finding a new twist to G/W or populating, if there's any.

I got a rough version of this built up, without the auras and giant growths, its more mana ramp and guildmage based, but they seem a tad slow despite all the ramp.

Something new and fresh for standard I haven't even seen! A big plus! Really like your build bud on this 1 also, can't give any constructive feedback as i havent played against or played with such a mill deck. I'm only worried, as with every mill deck I come across, that can it maintain a good speed.

Wanna check my approach on standard mono black heartless summoning with control and whatnot ? :)

Its nice to see a standard creatureless deck. B/R would be the obvious choice for dmg and control. Don't have much experience of playing with such a deck. Anyway, i'm not too convinced about the new liliana in a multicolored deck, she does well in mono black, slims down your library from swamps + u get fuel for bigger creatures and it combos real nice with Mutilate. I'd really wanna see mutilate in the main because u got Liliana of the Dark realms there.

Also same deal with Koth of the Hammer, he's awesome in mono red, his 2nd and last skill is pure awesome, but does this deck benefit enough from having him in here? i really dunno, as i've never heavily relied on planeswalkers.

Lots of spot removal is needed, but as u have no creatures yourself u would deffo benefit from global effects, likes of mutilate,Bonfire of the damned,Black sun's zenith. I'd even add a few black control spells, discards like duress or despise.. Also blood reckoning sounds tempting.

I noticed I had forgot to add them Bonesplinters, so i took out Moan of The unhallowed instead.

There u go M, im not too sure about Moan of the Unhallowed, u might wanna try ghoulcallers chant/murder/+1 Demonlord/+ 2 typhoid rats instead of it.

Here u go, i hope u dont mind for the complete rebuild. Something I really wanted to make use for in this version was Geralf's messenger, and to make him even more awesome.

Now u got Blood artists, Diregraf captains, Black cat, Butcher ghoul, Bone splinters, Demolord of Ashmouth & Altar's reap that all combo nicely with him in one way or another.

U also have some added control with despise and essence scatter, to get creatures in an opponents graveyard, then turn them into your zombies with Vile Rebirths or Cemetery reapers ability. This is a nice threat against opponents Gravecrawler's and other bouncers like Bloodghast.

+ Now your black cat can be sacrified with Altair's reap, bone splinter's and Demonlord of Ashmouth when needed to.

if u want to u can add Ghoulcaller's chant and or Murder's in there instead of Moan of the unhallowed or tragic slips. I dont have Geralf's messengers or Havengul Lich so I cant playtest this as home to see what changes should be made, but in my eyes the new build looks like it will cause trouble to your friends :)

I'm gonna help u completely redo this deck into...something. :D

First of all let's remove a few aspects like mill, infect, and then cards that dont surve a purpose in this deck. I suggest u concentrate on control, so lets keep the discard.

Remove

-Screeching skaab
-Village cannibals
-Shriekgeist
-Scourge servant
- sightless ghoul (too expensive, with major drawback)
- Bone to ash (adding something less expensive)
- Reap the seagraf
- Griptide
- Morbid plunder
- Curse of thrist (no other curses in deck so it doesnt do any good)
-Mystic retrieval
- Doomblade

Ok so that was a lot of removing..but let's see what we can do.

Add;

+ 2 Black cat
+ 2 Diregraf captain
+ 4 Bonesplinter
+ 2 Altair's reap
+ 3 Vile Rebirth
+ 3 Duress
+ 3 Despise
+ 2 Murder

ehhh..u kno what, ima build a version of this that I hope u like and make it a budget friendly one. I'll post link here soon.

Not a bad idea, i will give it a try and see how it works, although a few fogs might also buy me the time needed if I cant get a good start or im getting overrun by flying creatures.

I'll check it out and see if I can help! Thanks for the input!

this deck is not to be taken seriously, i havent even bothered to plan my sideboard. I saw your flicker deck recently, and that deck has ssome erious potential. Im missing Thragtusks, Huntermaster of the fells & Sunpetal groves, only a set of those would cost me a fortune, and it aint worth it, no matter how much life and tokens I would get for that price :D

Adding woodland cemeteries would deffo help with getting that swamp when needed. This deck has never really suffered from any mana related issues with its current build tho, if u cant get a hold of the color u need, u got plenty of support spells for that and i'm usually able to do it in time before its too late.

If u do have dual lands to spare for such a deck then ofcourse u should make use of them, I dont have them myself and if added them in the deckbuild it wouldnt be so budget friendly anymore :)

Nice idea for a deck, i like it, never really fully understood the potential of Mimic vat, but now I realise a good way of how to :) I really need to take a deeper look on this 2morro, as I'm tired as hell atm.

If u can't afford Restoration Angels yet, then I could advice u to add a couple of Cloudshifts to make use of the blink ability of your creatures for a very cheap manacost. Actually it might even be a better option, who knows :)

Thx, no personal gain with it for me tho, since what pleases me more's the fact player's get to explore a very low budget option for standard/casual gaming. Saying this makes me sound like a hypocrite, but honestly it's warms my heart, or rather saves my girlfriends nerves, that I can say with a good conscience "I didn't spend a fortune of my salary on cardboard this month" :) ...other months are different :P

I consider myself still a rookie at this game, so its nice that similar people can see this deck for a week or two on the mainpage, without having to look further for a fun deck to get started with.

That's an option, but that would mean I would have to add a swamp more into the deck or dual lands (that increase the price of this deck quite a lot), + I'd most likely need to fetch those two swamps. So its a bit too tricky and might cause disturbances in the deck synergy :)

Bone splinters ( B ) wud prolly be a better option, sac a creature, giving my graveyard something to feed my splinterfright/ghoultree/Kessig or wurm with. Still I would hope for a green alternative once RTRs out..

Hope it helped a bit, u got a good base there, you'll prolly need to play a few games to see if u need to add more draw or mill or both. Therefore I like Thought scour so much, u mill three with jace's erasure out and u get to lift a card. Mill is all about speed in my opinion, unless you're able to freeze opponents game somehow with extra control or defense..

If u got time to check out my latest standard deck, then i'd appreciate it. Any feedback is welcome! :)
