For some reason this Highlander thing is quite popular here in Finland, its basically EDH without the color restrictions and the commander, also it needs to have a minimum of 100 cards (multiple basic lands allowed ofcourse). Lots of fun tbh, having to think of different mechanics and solutions to counter different decks. Here's an updated list of banned and recently unbanned cards http://www.highlandermagic.info/index.php?id=bannedlist

Had to crash the Golgari selfmill party. I'm also tweaking my G/B/U standard golgarish deck to its limits. I like seeing Disciple of Bolas in here, a cool addition to sack those scavengers or other meatballs. One thing I'm curious about in this deck's the early game? Can u protect yourself long enough to withstand an aggro deck of any kind? Gnaw to the bone does well to counter this in mid-lategame and Disciple of Bolas helps u out, but having only 3 turn 1 drops might be crucial. Please let us now how it does in FNM, or when your playtesting the current version of the deck.

My deck follows the same theme, but relies heavily on Blood artist and Jarad. Check it out if/when u feel like it.

Like the use of Fencing Ace and enchantments!! as I'm tired of Silverblade Paladin being everywhere. I kno he's even in here, but he doesn't annoy me as much when Fencing Ace takes the trophy :P

Np, whenever u got time bud! This is a standard one i'm working on right now, testing it, fine-tuning it, hoping it wud work.

People mentioned Knight of infamy ( instead of Duty bound) & vault of the archangel, those might really work!

I see your point :) I'm not too convinced over Deathrite shaman overall though, he's an intimidating 1 drop that u cant deny, but there's only so little to exile from a graveyard early on, and rather than spending mana on his ablitity i'd rather use it on spells to throw from my hand to keep a good flow going on. I've found him useful if u r stuck drawing crap for many turns, but I don't see him as a gamewinner. As I see it u can stay in the game quite well with him, but he doesn't make u go all the way. I got 4 evolvings in there to thin the deck, and they also serve as food for the Shaman.

I'm kinda bouncing between Forbidden alchemy & Tracker's instinct. Forbidden alchemy let's me get whatever, so it might be really useful if I need that Golgari charm for instance.

2-3 Hydras in here would really make it look good me thinks. What I like is that having Blood Artist, korozda, Ghoultree, Primordial Hydra, Jarad, Deathrite shaman (for the annoyance) as a base for creatures really forces your opponent to decide between possible threats, the threat can be any one of those, and hopefully he'll be throwing spot removal/counter in vain :)

Damn that's a nice gift :) Vampire nighthawk's solid, and always a pain for the opponent. Nice to see another family guy in here! The Hydra and Corpsejack menace make a nice couple! Thanks for taking a look at my deck, ill get back into modifying it.

I would simply add Ground Seal & Naturalize to side, if u play against decks that wanna mess with your graveyard. ;)

Ohh and Pawn of Ulamog so u can get plenty of 0/1 tokens to either sack for mana or Desecration elemental.

Suggestion;

4 x Hex Parasite, for that continuous undying and use of Desecration elemental.

As earlier mentioned Gravecrawler with butcher ghoul or Geralf's messenger or why not both.

U said it and I had forgot it! :) I did the same thing last week, added a Primordial Hydra in my deck, only 1 tho cuz I dont have more copies. Primordial Hydra's a really good addition, as it's a major threat, and forces your opponent to pay attention to it and use spot removal/control to handle it if it gets out of control!

I'd really need 1 more Hydra in my deck,... Lemme kno how it goes with all the testing!

This is an area where I'm really uncomfortable at, B/W exalted, why reply then when I can't give any productive feedback on the go. :) I like the build, as in many of your decks, it seems solid and you seem to bring something new to table to chew on, which's really nice!

I might consider changing them Angel of Glory's Rises to Sublime Archangel, even tho AGR is a gamewinner if u get all your humans out on the battlefield. Sublime Archangel being a possible turn 4 drop is simply crazy If u got Nighthawk and silverblade on the battlefield. Or is it the fact most standard exalted decks rely on the Sublime heavily that u wanna find an alternative way to play?

Anyway it looks really good! and I'll come back with more ideas once I've put some more study into possible exalted combos.

How about throwing Abrupt decay to side, and removing 1 Deathrite shaman and adding 1-2 islands + 2-3 Forbidden alchemy or Tracker's instinct?

Checked out your topic at the forums. I made a deck quite similar to this, and I'm also struggling with speed, as i run G/B, making it G/B/U would certainly have its advantages, but it would require some knowledge in making a steady mana-base, and to maintain a good flow.

My deck runs Korozda and Blood artist as the main combo artists, and Jarad and Ghoultree as another combo. Check it out for ideas, http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=393983 . It still requires some improvement.

I like Splinterfright a lot, and I got another standard deck built around him and other "graveyard creatures", before the launch of RTR. Its mainly G/U, using tracker's instict, mulch and forbidden alchemy to speed it up. It's a very cheap deck, and so much fun to play. U can find it in my decks if you're curious to see a different approach on splinterfright.

The loltroll is such an awesome card but I'm not sure if u can get its full potential out of it in here, even tho it gets fueled by discarding creatures, which u want in order to fuel Splinterfright and Jarad, although Jarad's ability is really the one that causes more dmg. Loltroll in a G/B zombie aggro deck would be the real deal imo.

U might wanna consider adding a few ghoultrees and maybe some boneyward wurms. Dunno if u really need all the scavenging , altho Slitherhead's a nice early 1 drop, but Dreadbridge goliath, corpsejack menace and Golgari decoy? I mean I'd rather focus on 1 key element in here, that's either fueling your graveyard and creatures that make benefit from a big graveyard OR then keep the main focus in scavenging and speed. I'm still quite new to building functional decks myself, so keep in mind my opinion's only 1 among many. :)

Ahh see, the reason why Wurm or Ghoultree would be there's to increase the chances of A) getting a chunk of meat onto the table, just as an intimidation B) make either Jarad or Korozda eat 'em (in case Blood artist on table) . Since this deck's turned into a more creature based one, I doubt I even need parallel lives in here anymore tbh, as its not the main attraction, maybe more of a distraction for the opponent...or my deckbuild :D If I would've had the opportunity to run Forbidden alchemy in here, without ruining the synergy, I would've, in order to "secure" a Parallel lives into my hand.

This things a bit more polishing tho, I was thinking of dropping 1 Parallel lives and adding 1 more ghoultree or boneyard wurm, and maybe swap caravan vigils for mulches to make the graveyard big and fast.

Any advice?

Thanks guys for the inspiration btw :)

Doomed traveller's always a strong early drop, and that 0/1 druid that u can sack for a 3/3 centauri token woulda been good with gutter grime. As u can see the charm of B/G got the best of me, I kept looking into more new graveyard stuff and ended up ditching white when things didnt go as planned :)

anyway, I wanted to try out a combo with Slitherhead + Blood artist + Korozda guildmage + Tree of redemption/Ghoultree + Parallel lives + Golgaricharm. Might be tricky to pull it out, but once u u get 20 or 26 1/1 sapprolings with the help of Korozda and throw in a golgari charm and give -1-1 to all creatures and let your Blood artist do the rest. The slitherhead is there to give a 1drop and to boost Blood artist when time comes.

Also having Jarad on the table is a serious threat for your opponent if u happen to throw in a ghoultree by turn 5-6. The fact Jarad gets more beef from a big graveyeard's a nice bonus, its his skill that makes people wanna get ridd of him quick :)

"Whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, put a slime counter on Gutter Grime, then put a green Ooze creature token onto the battlefield with "This creature's power and toughness are each equal to the number of slime counters on Gutter Grime."

Tokens enter the graveyard, but the text on Gutter grime doesn't wanna co-operate. :)

I agree it does seem like a fun idea, but i'm afraid it might turn into a mess, im already thinking of splashing black into the picture, and it would need to be very creature based. Need creatures to sack for mana, or discard from hand to make the graveyard more juicy...
