The discovery of the card Tinker completely revolutionized everything I thought I knew about Magic. With a 60 card deck, you want to win as quickly as possible, and these cards provide multiple turn 1, 2, and 3 win conditions. -Ample opportunity for a large mana headstart on turn 1 -Mostly cheap artifact deck for Tinker/Transmute Artifact fodder (even lands woohoo!) -Platinum Angel and Platinum Emperion in case something goes wrong -Cranial Extraction can also completely dismantle an opposing deck's strategy, especially if there are particular cards that are stopping the Myr Retriever Combo (such as Engineered Plague, etc.) -Tezzeret's +1 and -4 abilities. Need I say more for an artifact deck? Blightsteel Colossus winning the game early with one swing in a 1v1 is demoralizing; killing everyone at once in a multiplayer game with the Myr Retriever combo is just wrong. :)
