This is the second time I've made Animar. The first time (see my other decks) it was to casual and it became a glass cannon. To easy to prodict and if you take the commander away, the deck can't win.Now it's a better build, but advice is always welcome. This Animar wants to build a board before casting Animar as your commander. This is my may-board:1 Orcish Lumberjack Definitely better then Arbor Elf, but this is the only card I don't have (yet). 1 Prowling Serpopard Two green mana made it to hard in this build. It's main board (for now) but it should be Allosaurus Shepherd from the Jumpstart set (the site isn't updated and I can't add it to the list yet) 1 Rishkar, Peema Renegade This card I rank at the same level as my Arbor Elf. Because of the 3 mana I didn't choose it but I'm still testing so it could eventually become a main card. UPDATE: after playtesting my Arbor Elf didn't do what I expected (mainly to many situations 1/4 it didn't untap land) and Rishkar became main board. 1 Wood ElvesGood in combination with Palinchron / Phantasmal Image but it is a late game combo. It's also an Elf (makes it a better choice for the deck. But eventually I needed to cut some things. 1 Cyclonic Rift Definitely one of the best blue cards for commander but it doesn't do mutch for this deck other than clear the way when you are already winning. 1 Mystic RemoraThis card was to depending on your opponents, and it only (mostly) gives cards when it isn't your turn. My other draw cards do a lot more when I'm going for the win. 1 Wild GrowthGood in combination with Palinchron / Phantasmal Image but it is a late game combo. It does give more mana early game, but then again, it isn't a creature.
Mostly play the waiting game. Animar is needed to win.But when you play Animar, you will be targeted (a lot).That's why I only play my commander the turn I think I could win. Most of the time if you have "when cast/enters creature, draw" or "bounce" or "unlimited mana".Walking Balista is my main win. But other possibilities to win are definitely possible.
