i think the beta version is worth more because less copies were made of it, so its rarer than the alpha. I think 100,000 is a bit rediculous, black lotus usually sell for between 3-5 grand. 10,000 would be a lot to ask for, even if it was in perfect condition, but i guess it could be more...

Im not really looking to see the top tier decks, i myself cant afford to make a deck thats worth 1000 dollars. But i can afford to make a deck thats around 500 dollars by buying pieces of it at a time. What i want to do is make a tournament quality deck, that isnt currently being played, kind of like my modern black devotion deck. But like you said, most of the people on here aren't playing competitively, therefore cant give any reasonable advice. Thanks for your suggestions guys

Looks good man! looks like a lot of fun to play. My last and final suggestion to you is Funeral charm. Its a 1 mana instant that can give a creature +2-1, or give a creature swampwalk, OR make a player discard a card.
The worst thing that could happen to you is that you draw Haakon. Once he is in your hand, you cant play him, and you have no way of getting him out of your hand. Funeral charm allows you to make yourself discard him. It also can kill creatures with a toughness of 1, or you can boost a creature of your own with its +2. Swampwalk is situational, but hey if your friends play black decks, it could come in handy. Id run only two of them, and probably remove Liturgy of Blood to fit it in. But that's up to you good sir, anyway, hope this deck does well for you!

im confused, how does act of treason and bazzar trader allow you to permanently keep one of their creatures?

still might be a bit on the slow side, but i think its getting there. Check out Kiln Fiend, he might have a spot in here :) looks good though, ive always wanted to make an izzet aggro but i never seem to get it to come out right lol

Thats cool man, thats what this site is for. i have a couple of relatively inexpensive card suggestions.

first on my list is Haakon stromgald scourge. Hes a black 3/3 knight that you can only play from from your graveyard and once hes in play, you can cast other knights from your graveyard back onto the battlefield, which is pretty cool. Gives you an undying army of knights!

The only problem is that you need a way to get him into your graveyard first to get the ball rolling. so my next suggestion is a card called Buried Alive. Its a 3 mana sorcery that allows you to search your library for 3 creatures and put them into your graveyard. So you take haakon and two other of your most needed knights and put them into the graveyard. Next you play haakon and now you can play all the knights in your graveyard for as long as hes in play! The best part is if they kill him, he goes back into the graveyard and you just bring him right back out.

Next up is some removal spells. Personally i like Go for the throat, 2 mana, kill target non artifact creature. idk about you but most of my friends dont play artifact creatures so this card is usually a kill all spell.
My next suggestion is going to be really cool for having Haakon. its called Nameless Inversion, and its a 2 mana tribal instant that gives a creature -3-3. Tribal means that its a spell with a creature type attached to it. The creature type attached to this spell is Changeling, which means that this spell is every creature type in the game. Which means if you have Haakon on the battlefield, you can cast Nameless inversion from the graveyard over and over again because its technically a Knight instant!
Some other really good removal spells are Doom blade, victim of night, grasp of darkness, ultimate price and dismember, but i think the two i named above probably would suit you the best.

My last suggestion is card thats probably a few dollars is Stillmoon Cavalier. Hes a 3 mana black and white knight, that has protection from black and white. Hes very similar to stromgald crusader, only difference is that stillmoon has the added protection from black, costs one more mana to play, and has an ability to gain first strike. Pretty cool card.

i think it might be a little bit too slow to be aggro, 20 3 drops is pretty rough, especially in a 20 land deck. Id work some of those 3 drops out for some earlier burn and control spells

you have a ton of comments and have definitely put way more effort into helping people than i have. I know for a fact if i spent more time doing so, perhaps i would have followers like i did when i started.
And dont feel bad, i was venting my frustrations at 2 am after a day of drinking, i deserved a bit of a chewing out but i certainly meant what i said although my presentation was not fantastic to say the least.

I don't consider you to be a sell out, you do what you enjoy, same as i do. people right now just happen to enjoy what you make more. I love this site and i come on here everyday and spend countless hours trying to perfect a deck before i buy it (which is a waste of time, i should just order it and play test it instead of making a thousand changes based solely on sample hands), but its fun for me, and i learn a lot from it.

I havent watched any of the southpark episodes this season, i was still dissappointed in the ones from last season. they are trying to hard to make it funny and its just not. Time for them to go back to their roots!

Also im relatively new to magic, only been playing it for about 2 years and i am just now starting to play people outside of my friend groups competitively at FNM's and shit. So all the decks that people are bored of, are all new to me, and im trying to get good advice on how to play against them, i think thats why im bothered the most. Cause its not old to me yet.

not sure when i told anyone that there deck is okay and mine is the shit.
And i say sorry for sounding like a dick because in my head, i come off sounding like a dick.
I have negative comments on one deck and most of them are towards someone who was being an asshole and had multiple accounts to down vote me. Out of the hundreds of comments Ive made.
The scrape it off my zipper line came from one of the classiest dry-cleaners ive ever met and i just wanted to use it for a good time.
I have never used the line "Your version sucks, let me show you up by making it better. THEN I will post it on YOUR deck, so that you can look at what your deck is SUPPOSE to look like. "
The only reason i recreate the deck is because i like it and i want to try to make it better to help them, but its easier for me to just recreate it so i can take sample hands and test it myself. And pretty much the main person i do that for is Nastos and he is my best friend and has asked me for my help.

Im not saying you were one of the original 5, im saying your one of them NOW. Every week with multiple decks. And yes i am jealous.

You are 100% right, i have liked your decks, and i still do, and i don't not like you and i didn't come here to attack you. After all you didn't hit the like button 18 times and get a handful of comments by yourself. I came here hoping that someone would agree with me about what i said first, or at least explain to me why the hell decks like this that no one wants to waste 20 dollars on, are so high in demand right now.

I think most of your decks are creative and honestly when i first started typing my original comment i didnt know it was even your deck, i just saw it on the hot page, went and checked it out and i couldn't believe that this is a "hot" deck. So like i said, i didnt come here to attack you, although you are doing a fantastic job at trying to make it very personal by going through my skeletons in the closet. You can be offended, and im certain i will get chewed out by some of your many followers who are so eager to defend you. Your a nice guy Jessie and i have nothing against you. Im just hoping to find people who think like me and want advice on decks that might actually see play.
When i started on here, i got a ton of criticism from lots of different people and it has helped my deck building a ton. But slowly all those people went away and it seems like this site is now full of kids that just want to talk about silly decks, or budget decks and its like this big competition for who can the most shit deck work. I just miss the constructive criticism, whether i was the one who gave it out or not, i still miss it.

And yes i may be a bit self absorbed when it comes to talking about my own decks, but i dont think wanting praise makes me a bad person, and especially coming from you, someone who gets praise on just about everything, no matter what kind of deck it is.

My statements may be on your deck, but its not just directed at you. As far as the budget deck comment, i just assumed this was a budget deck like all the other budget decks i see up there every day.

I have nothing against decks trying to create a win condition out of some random card and making it work. But im not sure i see that in this deck. I dont think giving your opponent the ability to fly just to kill the creature you gave flying to can be considered a win condition.

Anyway, i am sorry to have upset you, it was a pretty late night last night and i definitely had had a few, so i was feeling pretty spicy. Not an excuse by any means, but it sure didnt help my filter at all. Nothing against you Jessie, so please dont be mean lol

a real deck to me is a deck that people would actually buy and play with. a deck that might win tourneys and shit, or just a good strong deck thats fun to play or something new and unusual that might work. Your right, no one comes on here to see another splinter twin deck, or azorious control deck, but they sure as hell didnt come here for this.

you dont have to rain heat on my decks just because you may have seen them before, it doesnt mean its not good, and most of my decks are different in some way or another and almost all of them i spent a lot of time on trying to make work.
By the way, boros is a color scheme, not a deck. its red and its white, and each boros deck might be different. And you named like 3 of 50 + decks i have made and only named the ones that most people have heard of. Who deosnt want to take a shot at making their own version of a good deck with hopes of improving it? Sounds fun to me.

I like the idea of people making exciting new strategies to take out the competition with some odd ball deck. But this isnt that at all. This site is now lets look at all the shitty cards that no one plays and try to make a budget deck with it.

And just because you have seen the deck before doesn't mean i didn't come up with it on my own. Not everyone googles decks and then copy and pastes them. You cant sit here and defend this budget garbage because your bored of good decks. Who the hell wants to play with a deck that relies on giving your opponent's creatures, (assuming they have any), the ability to fly, just so you can kill them?
God, ive got this great kill spell in my hand... its a damn shame that creature doesnt have flying or else id be able to use it... wait lets make a deck that makes creatures fly so we can use reach to block it and mainboard 4 hurricanes! what fun that would be! it would be just like a good deck only much worse! i like the idea of black knights, but im not sure im seeing the point of it.. they are all black and knights of course, but there is no beneifit of them sharing this creature type. there is no scaling that really enhances power that i can see, and your main boarding spells like artificers hex and deathmark that are only good against decks that use those cards and dont help you in any other way. Your also running 4 copies of some very questionable cards, and only running like 2 or 3 of cards that you should be running 4 of.

I mean no offense but before i give you any advice, i have a few questions
Are you relatively new to magic?
And are you typically just playing against your friends?
Are you on a tight budget?

i would deffinitely main board vampire nocturnus, 4 copies. he just wins. id also mainboard more copies of go for the throat.
feast of blood and urge to feed are great cards but too situational. sometimes you just need to kill a creature now and not have to worry about sorcery speed, number of vampires, or whether or not its smart to tap any vampires to give counters too. but anyway, def add nocturnus, he is a monster. nice deck, love vamps!

i did think about it but my problem was that i dont know what im ramping for. I know it could help me be faster but unless i get arena out, it leaves me without a hand. Not to mention it hurts me if i cant drop an obliterator or messenger on time because i have a nyxthos out instead of a swamp.
